Cooper Cain (Valdosta State) earned pitcher of the night for the fourth time this season, but still didn’t get enough run support. It was a pitcher’s duel for most of the game. He took a no-hitter into the fifth as two batters reached previously from errors. Cain continued to face the minimum going in to the sixth, but only allowed on runner. He allowed just one hit and walk as he ended his outing with just three hits, one walk and eight strikeouts, but the Rivets were shutout in 14 innings.
