The Eau Claire Express lost the lead in the later innings, but managed to hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth and win the game. Meanwhile, Duluth holds a two game lead over Willmar and Mankato while Kenosha is clinging to a 1.5 lead over Madison in the second half standings.

 

Wisconsin 6, Kalamazoo 1

The Wisconsin Woodchucks used the final four innings to take the lead and defeat the Kalamazoo Growlers 6-1. The Chucks scored first in the second when Alex Toral (Miami) went deep. Kalamazoo’s only run came unearned in the fifth. Wisconsin got another pair in the sixth when Brandt Broussard (LSU) hit a two-run single. The Chucks got two more in the seventh and one in the ninth when Zach DeLoach (Texas A&M) led off the inning with the long ball. Greg Dunham (Youngstown State) threw five in the start, allowed just one unearned run and picked up his third win.

Wisconsin Rapids 4, Rockford 6

The Rockford Rivets took the lead and defeated the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 6-4. Rapids scored once in the first and another in the second on an RBI single by Victor Carlino (Long Beach State). The Rafters picked up two more in the fourth on a two-run single by Ethan Stringer (Louisville). The Rivets cut their deficit in half on two RBI singles by Parker Bates (Louisiana Tech) and Ryan Cole (Notre Dame). Rockford then took advantage of some control issues on three bases loaded walks while Kian O’Brien (Kent State) hit an RBI single in the eighth. Tanner Propst (Louisiana Tech) then came on in the ninth and converted his first save.

Rochester 4, Duluth 10

The Duluth Huskies used a big sixth inning and defeated the Rochester Honkers 10-4. The Huskies got two in the third on an error and two RBI fielder’s choice. Duluth got two more in the fifth on another error and fielder’s choice. They went off for five in the sixth which was powered by Carlos Mosley (Cumberland U). Hunter Bigge (Harvard) started for Duluth and threw six scoreless on five hits and one walk while striking out five. The Honkers got another pair in the seventh which was started from Nate Webb (UC Riverside) hitting an RBI single. The Honkers did manage two more in the eighth, but a wild pitch gave Duluth another in the bottom half while Rochester went down in-order to end the game.

Thunder Bay 5, Eau Claire 6

The Eau Claire Express walked it off in the ninth and defeated the Thunder Bay Border Cats 6-5. The Express got one in the opening inning and second on wild pitches. Eau Claire put up three in the fifth on two bases loaded walks while getting an RBI single by Spencer Myers (Notre Dame). Thunder Bay got one in the eighth and then tied it in the ninth from two errors and an RBI single by Cam Pearcey (Coastal Carolina). In the bottom half though Adam LaRock (MATC) hit an RBI single to score the winning run.

Battle Creek 5, Lakeshore 6

The Lakeshore Chinooks tied it and took the lead in the eighth and went on to defeat the Battle Creek Bombers 6-5. The Bombers scored first in the opening inning. Chase Wheatcroft (Cal State Stanislaus) threw five scoreless on just four hits while striking out eight. The Chinooks then took the lead in the sixth with three from two errors and an RBI single by Christian Boulware (Panola). The Bombers retook the lead in the seventh from four which was capped off by Jalen Thomas (Madonna). The Chinooks then came back for good in the eighth on a two-run single by Cole Turney (Arkansas). Jake Carlsen (Joliet) threw the final 2.2 scoreless and got his first save.

La Crosse 7, St. Cloud 3

The La Crosse Loggers took the lead in the seventh and never looked back as they defeated the St. Cloud Rox 7-3. The Rox got two in the second on a wild pitch and RBI double by Noah Hill (BYU). The Loggers got one in the third from an RBI single by Braiden Ward (Washington). St. Cloud got another in the bottom half from an error. The Loggers then took the lead in the seventh which was powered by Bryce Blaum (Texas A&M) knocking in two from a triple. They got another in the eighth on an error and one more in the ninth while Chase Whitaker (Merced) threw three scoreless to end the game.

Fond du Lac 5, Madison 7

The Madison Mallards battled all game and defeated the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 7-5. Both teams traded runs in the third. Fondy got an RBI single by Kiambu Fentress (Vanderbilt) and Madison was powered by Trevor Schwecke (UW-Milwaukee) hitting an RBI double. The Mallards took the lead in the next inning as the two teams got runs again in the fifth. The Dock Spiders tied it in the sixth on an RBI single by Jack Wassel (Minnesota). The Mallards then responded with four in the seventh on three bases loaded walks and an RBI single by Trevor Boone (Oklahoma State). Fondy got one in the eighth and another in the ninth, but the final guy struck out to end the game.

Waterloo 7, Bismarck 1

The Waterloo Bucks prevented anything late from the Bismarck Larks and won the game 7-1. Waterloo scored its first in the second inning when Carmen Sclafani (Rutgers) went deep. The Bucks put up two in the third on an RBI single by Brendan Hueth (St. Josephs) and an error. They got two more in the eighth on a two-run single by Trey Leonard (Louisville). S. Thoresen (Minnesota) threw six scoreless, allowed just three hits and four walks while striking out one. The Larks did manage one in the ninth from an RBI single by Carson Bartels (St. Johns), but the next guy grounded out to end the game.

Willmar 4, Mankato 11

The Mankato MoonDogs scored early and often and defeated the Willmar Stingers 11-4. The Stingers scored all four in the second which was started on consecutive RBI doubles by Caleb Ricca (Northwestern State) and Davis Elliott (North Alabama). The MoonDogs got one in the bottom half and then another in the fourth from a solo shot by Garrett Mitchell (UCLA). Mankato then took the lead in the fifth which was powered by Jake Shepski (Xavier) hitting a two-run shot. The Dogs got another in the sixth and then four more in the seventh on two errors and another RBI single by Mitchell. In the eighth, Mitchell drove in another while the bullpen threw the final 3.2 scoreless to end the game.

Kenosha 9, Green Bay 3

The Kenosha Kingfish scored early and often and defeated the Green Bay Bullfrogs 9-3. The Kingfish got its first in the opening inning. Kenosha got a leadoff home run in the third by Carson McCusker (Oklahoma State). The Frogs tied it in the bottom half from an error and a run scoring double by Preston Pavlica (Grand Canyon). Kenosha retook the lead in the fifth, but Green Bay tied it again in the sixth. The Kingfish went ahead in the seventh on a wild pitch and an RBI double. Kenosha then put up four in the eighth to pull ahead which was powered by a two-run single from Scott Dubrule (Jacksonville) while the bullpen ended the game.
