The St. Cloud Rox and Duluth Huskies started the day off with an eleven inning game with a final score 5-4. The Huskies and Rox battled until the last inning when they scored one run to take the win. The Kalamazoo Growlers defeated the Rockford Rivets 3-0. Growlers pitcher, Adam Wheaton (Trine University), pitched an impressive and all nine innings. Lastly, the Madison Mallards remain undefeated with their seventh win against the Lakeshore Chinooks tonight, 5-1.
St. Cloud Rox 4, Duluth Huskies 5
The Duluth Huskies defeat the St. Cloud Rox during an eleven inning game with a close score 5-4. During the sixth inning the Rox took the lead but the Huskies finished them off scoring two runs in the ninth and one in the eleventh for the win. Duluth’s Tyler Lozano (USC) hit a triple, three hits, and had one RBI during is time at the plate. Brady Harlan (University of Oklahoma) received two RBIs for the St. Cloud Rox. The winning pitcher was Huskies, Logan VanWey (Missouri Southern State), pitching four innings giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out one. While the losing pitcher was Rox Joey Stock (St. Johns University) with three strike outs, two walks, three runs, and five hits during his two inning period.
Green Bay Booyah 5, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 6
Another close game between the Green Bay Booyah and Fond du Lac Dock Spiders with the Spiders grabbing the win over the Booyah 6-5. Green Bay tried to fight back during the eighth inning scoring two runs but it was not enough to our run the Spiders during tonights game. Both Zeb Adrian (Iowa) and Cherokee LeBeau (Oakland) had two RBIs and a double hit for Fond du Lac. The winning pitcher was Jonathan Cowles (Colorado-Colorado Springs) pitching five innings giving up four hits, two runs, and striking out six for the Spiders. Jack Owens (Santa Ana College) came in with the save for two innings striking out five, three hits, and zero walks. While Green Bay’s losing pitcher was Logan Lee (Northwood) with three hits, three runs, and one strike out during the one inning of work.
Lakeshore Chinooks 1, Madison Mallards 5
The Madison Mallards took charge over the Lakeshore Chinooks during the seventh inning scoring three runs. The finished score of the game was 5-1, Mallards for the win and remaining undefeated this season. Madison’s E.J. Ranel (Lenior-Rhyne), Ben Anderson (Georgia), and Jordan Stephens (Miami Ohio) all assisted with one RBI. Anderson also hit a triple, one walk, and two hits during tonights game. The winning pitcher was Madison’s Lowell Schipper (University of Richmond) pitching six innings with three hits, zero runs, two walks, and four strike outs. While Lakeshore’s losing pitcher was Brandon Komar (Madison College) pitching seven innings strong giving up six hits, four runs, and four walks.
La Crosse Loggers 1, Eau Claire Express 14
The Eau Claire Express blew out the La Crosse Loggers 14-1 tonight scoring at least two runs between the third and eighth inning each time. Both teams now hold the same season record 2-5-0. Express’ Sam Kohnle (Winona State) had five RBIs, two walks, three hits, and a double. The winning pitcher for Eau Claire was Alec Baker (Dallas Baptist) pitching for two innings with zero hits, zero runs, two walks, and two strike outs. While the losing pitcher was Dylan Gibeau (Young Harris) from the Loggers giving up six hits, eight runs, and six walks during a three inning period.
Mankato MoonDogs 7, Waterloo Bucks 5
Mankato MoonDogs for the win against the Waterloo Bucks with a close final score 7-5. The MoonDogs came out during the first inning scoring three runs and continued their success throughout the game scoring consistent runs through almost every inning. Sky-lar Culver (Arkansas State) scored a home run for the MoonDogs as well as a double hit and three RBIs. The Waterloo Bucks’ Caleb Littlejim (Kansas State) scored a home run, a double, and three RBIs during tonights game. The winning pitcher was Brett Newberg (Austin Peay State) going six innings strong with nine hits, five runs, and five strike outs. Connor Campbell (Lander) swooped in for the save for three innings with one hit, zero runs, zero walks, and two strike outs. While the losing pitcher from the Bucks was Kenny Carrillo (Biola) gave up twelve hits, six runs, one walk, and four strike outs during his four inning time at the pitchers mound.
Wisconsin Woodchucks 6, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 5
The Wisconsin Rafters lost to the Wisconsin Woodchucks in the first game between their two game series. The final score was 6-5, Woodchucks for the win. Jake Dunham (Northern Illinois) got a home run for the Rafters in the first inning along with an RBI and a double. The losing pitcher of the game was Izzy Fuentes (Faulkner) for the Wisconsin Rafter.
Traverse City Pit Spitters 2, Kenosha Kingfish 6
Traverse City Pit Spitters lost against the Kenosha Kingfish with a finalized score 6-2 being the Kingfish’s second win of the season. Nate Thomas (Saint Josephs University) had three RBIs, hit one double, two walks, and three hits for the Kingfish. Another double and RBI combination was from Kenosha’s Brain Vance (Saint Josephs University). The winning pitcher of the game was Kaleb Schmidt (Drury University) pitching five innings with five hits, two runs, three walks, and seven strike outs. Troy Hickey (Madison College) came in for the saving pitch going for four innings with zero runs, zero hits, and five strike outs. The Spitter’s losing pitcher was Chase Wheatcroft (CSU-Stanislaus) with ten hits, five runs, two walks, and two strike outs.
Rochester Honkers 3, Thunder Bay Border Cats 2
A close game against the Rochester Honkers and Thunder Bay Border Cats was tonight ending the game with a final score 3-2. The Thunder Bay Border Cats was once again defeated by their opponent and continuing their losing streak 0-7. The Honkers came right out of the gate swinging scoring on run and continued to score during inning four and seven. Both teams scored a home run, for Rochester it was Ryan Wrobleski (Dallas Baptist University) and for Thunder Bay Tyson Fisher (Dixie State University (UT)). The losing pitcher from the Border Cats was Tyler Hansen (Gateway CC (AZ)) pitching five innings with four hits, two runs, two walks, and one strike out. The winning pitcher was Ryan Middendorf (Lake Erie College) who gave up five hits, zero runs, and eight strikes for the Rochester Honkers. While Marty Tolson Jr. came in for the save for the Honkers pitching two innings with two hits, two runs, and three strike outs.
Willmar Stingers 15, Bismarck Larks 2
The Willmar Stingers defeat the Bismarck Larks breaking the Larks winning streak of 6-0 this 2019 season. The final score was 15-2. The Stingers advanced and bridged their scoring gap between the Larks during the sixth inning scoring eight runs. Kevin Saenz (San Jose State) hit one home run for Willmar along wth two runs, two RBIs, one walk, and one strike out. Another great performance was from Sam Baier (Augustana University) hitting two doubles and two RBIs. The losing pitcher was Brain Leonhardt (San Diego State) with four hits, one run, and ten strike outs. The Willmar Stingers winning pitcher was Garret Rukes (Alabama) pitching six innings total with three hits, two runs, and three strike outs. Juan Cabrera (New Mexico State) came in with the save pitching three innings with zero hits, zero runs, and one strike out.
Kokomo Jackrabbits 7, Battle Creek Bombers 6
The Kokomo Jackrabbits pull through in a close game against the Battle Creek Bombers closing the game with a score of 7-6. Bomber’s Jack Merrifield (LSU- Eunice) had two RBIs and hit a double. Logan Jarvis (Belmont) received two RBIs, two hits, one walk, and one run for the Jackrabbits. The winning pitcher of the night was Christian Lewis (UC-Colorado Springs) pitching two innings giving up two hits, one run, one walk, and zero strike outs. Ryan Boyer (Pitt-Bradford) saved the game for the Jackrabbits with zero hits, zero runs, and three strike outs during one inning. While the Battle Creek’s losing pitcher was Josh Hranicky (Lamar) who had one strike out, two hits, six runs, and four walks while at the mound for two innings.
Rockford Rivets 0, Kalamazoo Growlers 3
The Kalamazoo Growlers shut out out the Rockford Rivets with a win and a final score 3-0. The Growlers took charge in the third inning and never let the Rivets have a shot to score a run. Noah Marcoux (Davenport University) had two RBIs, one run, and two strike outs for Kalamazoo. The winning and only pitcher for the Kalamazoo Growlers was Adam Wheaton (Trine University) pitching all nine innings giving up four hits, zero runs, two walks, and three strike outs. Rivet’s losing pitcher was Cory Wright (Valdosta State) with seven hits, one run, two walks, and six strike outs.
