The Madison Mallards crushed and remains undefeated this season, winning their game against the Lakeshore Chinooks with a final score 12-6. The Thunder Bay Border Cats (1-7) add their first win of the season to their record tonight against the Rochester Honkers.
Rockford Rivets 3, Kalamazoo Growlers 5
The Kalamazoo Growlers defeated the Rockford Rivets 5-3 during todays game. It was a back and fourth battle between the Rivets and Growlers, with the Rivets scoring one run during the first inning but the Growlers taking charge scoring three runs in the sixth. Rockford’s Jake VanderWal (Long Beach State) hit a home run, one RBI, and two hits during the game. Shea Kramer (University of Utah) had three RBIs, one strike out, and one hit for the Kalamazoo Growlers. The winning pitcher was Alex McCutcheon (Huntington University) for Kalamazoo pitching for two innings with zero runs, one hit, zero walks, and three strike outs. Eamon Horwedel (Ohio University) had six strike outs, zero hits, zero runs, and zero walks during his three innings at work. While Carter Lawler (Eastern Illinois) was the Rivets losing pitcher throwing one inning while giving up one hit, two runs, and zero strike outs.
Madison Mallards 12, Lakeshore Chinooks 6
The Madison Mallards crushed the Lakeshore Chinooks with a final score of 12-6. The Mallards add another win to their undefeated season (8-0). Madison racked up eight runs in the first four innings scoring four runs during the third inning. E.J. Ranel (Lenoir-Rhyne) and Drew Benefield (Louisville) both scored two home runs for the Mallards. Benefield also had five RBIs, four hits, two runs, and a grand slam. The winning pitcher was Quinn Gudaitis (Illinois Wesleyan University) pitching five innings giving up three hits, two runs, and four strike outs for the Madison Mallards. While the Lakeshore Chinooks losing pitcher Jarod Large (North Iowa Area CC) had seven hits, six runs, two walks, and two strike outs during two innings at the plate.
Eau Claire Express, La Crosse Loggers
The Eau Claire Express and La Crosse Loggers game was postponed to June 6, 2019 at 5:35 pm due to weather in the fourth inning. The regularly scheduled game will take place thirty minutes after the conclusion of the first game and it will be seven innings.
Mankato MoonDogs 6, Waterloo Bucks 10
The Waterloo Bucks crushed the Mankato MoonDogs with a final score 10-6. The Bucks made a move during the fourth inning scoring five runs to take the lead and gapping the score with each inning after. Caleb LittleJim (Kansas State) and Jake Gitter (Northern Colorado) hit one home run each for the Bucks tonight. LittleJim also had five RBIs, two hits, and one run while Gitter had three RBIs, two hits, and one run. The winning pitcher was Adam Ketelsen (Iowa) pitching five innings while giving up five hits, one run, and two strike outs. While the losing pitcher was Nick Schmidt (Missouri State) with five hits, eight runs, five walks, and two strike outs during his three inning period on the mound.
Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 5, Wisconsin Woodchucks 3
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters came on top with the win over the Wisconsin Woodchucks during tonights series game with a finalized score 5-3. The Rafters really brought it home during the eighth inning scoring four runs which put them in the lead over the Woodchucks. Rafters Jake Dunham (Northern Illinois) had three RBIS, two double hits, and one run. For the Woodchucks Byron Murray (Lynn University) received two RBIs and one double. The winning pitcher of the night was Zack Hunsicker (UCF) pitching two innings giving up four hits, three runs, two walks, and zero strike outs. While Brayden Bonner (Dixies State) came in with the pitching save with one hit, zero runs, and two strike outs in one inning at work. Lastly, the losing pitcher was Woodchucks Emmanuel Corporan (FDU) pitching three innings strong with three hits, four runs, and one strike out.
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 1, Green Bay Booyah 2
The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders fell to the Green Bay Booyah in a ten inning close match tonight. The final score was 2-1, Green Bay taking the winning. The score was 0-0 until the Spiders scored during the fifth inning but it wasn’t enough when the Booyah scored during the tenth inning for the win. Green Bay’s Blaise Maris (Florida Tech) hit a double and one RBI tonight. The winning pitcher was the Green Bay Booyah, Tanner Lane (Pittsburg State) with zero hits, zero runs, and zero strike outs during his one inning period. While the losing pitcher was Nathan Thomas (Northern Illinois) for the Spiders giving up one hit, one run, two walks, and one strike out.
Traverse City Pit Spitters 4, Kenosha Kingfish 6
Traverse City Pit Spitters and the Kenosha Kingfish had a tight and close game tonight with the Kingfish coming onto with a final score 6-4 to take the win. Kenosha bridged the lead in the bottom of the third inning scoring four runs. Matt Padre (Manhattan College) had two RBIs, one hit, and one run for the Kingfish during the second inning. For the Spitters, Kam Smith (Norther Illinois) hit a double, two runs, and one RBI. The winning pitcher was Kenosha’s Keith Kutzler (Wisconsin- Whitewater) pitching two innings giving up two hits, one run, zero walks, and one strike out. Patrick Tomfohrde (Wisconsin- Milwaukee) came in for the Kingfish with the save with zero runs, zero hits, and one strike. While the losing pitcher was Traverse Cities Garett Simmons (Ball State) pitching one inning with one hits, zero runs, and two strike outs at the plate.
Rochester Honkers 1, Thunder Bay Border Cats 5
The Thunder Bay Border Cats grab their first win of the 2019 Summer season against the Rochester Honker with a final score 5-1. The Border Cats took control during the second inning scoring two runs and continuing the flow by scoring another two runs during the fourth. Cats Ryne Edmondson (Houston Baptist University) had three RBIs, two hits, and one walk. The winning pitcher for Thunder Bay was Alex Dafoe (Friends University (KS)) pitching for seven innings giving up five hits, one run, two walks, and eight strike outs. While Rochester’s losing pitcher was Dwayne Marshall (Maryland-Eastern Shore) with four hits, two runs, three walks, and two strike outs during his time at the plate.
Duluth Huskies 2, St. Cloud Rox 7
The St.Cloud Rox outscore and defeat the Duluth Huskies during tonights game with a ending score 7-2. Huskies Danny Zimmerman (Michigan) hit two doubles and one RBI during the seventh inning. For the Rox Freddy Achecar (Georgetown University) hit a triple and one RBI in the third. The losing pitcher was Austin Smith (Southwestern University) pitching five innings with six hits, three runs, two walks, and four strike outs. While the winning pitcher from St. Cloud was Rj Martinez (Minot State) pitching a big seven innings giving up five hits, two runs, two walks, and five strike outs at the pitchers mound.
Kokomo Jackrabbits 2, Battle Creek Bombers 1
The Kokomo Jackrabbits beat the Battle Creek Bomber in a close 2-1 in a battle during the fourth inning with both teams scoring one run. Kokomo’s Jack Kraus (UW-Milwaukee) hit a double, one RBI, and had one walk during his time at the batting plate during tonights game. The losing pitcher of the night was the Bombers Dillon Champagne (Schoolcraft College) pitching four innings with five hits, two runs, and five strike outs. While, the winning pitcher was Caleb Reinhardt (Evansville) pitching eight innings strong giving up six hits, one run, one walk, and six strike outs. Joey Haass (Delaware) swooped in for the save for the Jackrabbits with zero hits, zero runs, and two strike outs in the last inning.
Willmar Stingers 3, Bismarck Larks 5
The Bismarck Larks defeated the Willmar Stingers tonight 5-3. The Larks were behind until the bottom of the sixth inning after scoring three runs to bring them ahead of the Stingers. Bismarck’s Brain Leonhardt (San Diego State) had one RBI, one run, and one hit during tonights game. While Willmar’s Daniel Walsh (Sacramento City) hit a triple, two runs, two hits, and with zero strike outs. The winning pitcher of the night was the Bismarck Larks Hunter Kloke (Indiana University- Southeast) pitching two innings giving up one hit, zero runs, zero walks, and four strikes. The losing pitcher of the game was John Bezdicek (Southwest Minnesota State) with three hits, two runs, and two strike outs.
