The Thunder Bay Border Cats grab their second win of the 2019 season. The Cats are on a role improving their record to 2-7 after their win against the Rochester Honkers. While the Madison Mallards lost their first game of the Summer season to the Green Bay Booyah with a final score of 9-2. Lastly, the Fond du Lack Dock Spiders took charge and defeated the Wisconsin Woodchucks in the few minutes of the ninth inning scoring two runs and a final score of 4-3.
Green Bay Booyah 9, Madison Mallards 2
The Madison Mallards were finally defeated by the Green Bay Booyah tonight with a final score of 9-2. Until this game the Mallards were the team to beat but tonight the Green Bay Booyah took control and came together as a team. Green Bay came out of the doors swinging scoring four runs in the top of the first. Nick Kreutzer (Arkansas Pine Bluff), Blaise Maris (Florida Tech), and Ty Herrenbruck (Pittsburg State) all scored home runs of the Booyah during tonights game. Also, both Herrenbruck and Kreutzer received two RBIs. The Mallards Drew Benefield (Louisville) had a good performance scoring the teams one home run and two RBIs. The winning pitcher Garrett Martin (Marian) pitched a strong seven innings with six hits, two runs, one walk, and six strike outs. While the Mallards losing pitcher was Aidan Tyrell (Notre Dame) gave up four hits, seven runs, and three strike outs.
Duluth Huskies 8, Waterloo Bucks 5
The Duluth Huskies were triumphant against the Waterloo Bucks with a ten inning game tonight finishing the game with a score of 8-5. During the tenth inning the Huskies took control and scored three runs for the win. The Bucks Lorenzo Elion (Iowa) with two runs, two RB, and one RBI and Alex Ronnebaum (Kent State) with two doubles and one RBI. Duluth’s Ramon Enriquez (Oklahoma Baptist) scored one home run, two RBIs, and a hit a double. For the Bucks Alex Ronnebaum (Kent State) hit two doubles and one RBI. The winning pitcher for the Huskies was Tim Holdgrafter (Cal Poly Ponoma) pitching three innings with two hits, zero runs, zero walks, and four strike outs. While the losing pitcher for Waterloo was Dylan Phillips (Kansas State) giving up three runs, three hits, and three strike outs.
La Crosse Loggers 3, Eau Claire Express 2
The Eau Claire Express fell to the La Crosse Loggers in a tight game tonight, with a final score 3-2. The Loggers Brett Hawkins (Young Harris) had one RBI, one hit, and two walks. Both Eau Claire’s Troy Beilsmith (Evansville) and Sam Kohnle (Winona State) had one RBI each. The winning pitcher was La Crosse Matt Kennedy (St. Josephs) with three hits, one run, three walks, and five strike outs. Jared Freilich (Penn State) was the saving pitcher pitching two innings with one hit, zero runs, two walks, and zero strike outs. The Eau Claire’s losing pitcher was Colt Mink (Flagler) giving two hits, three runs, four walks, and one strike out during his two innings at the mound.
Lakeshore Chinooks 7, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 6
The Lakeshore Chinooks and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters battled during tonights game with the Chinooks taking the win 7-6. In the fist inning the Rafter scored four runs and were in the lead but by the third inning the Chinooks scored four taking the lead for most of the game. Cameron Hart (Lansing CC) and Justin Olson (Kentucky) both scored home runs for Lakeshore. Hart also had four RBIs, one hit, and one run during the game. Josh Nicoloff (Columbia) hit a home run for the Rafters and also two RBIs. The winning pitcher for the Lakeshore Chinooks was Will Klein (Eastern Illinois) pitching one inning with zero hits, zero runs, zero walks, and three strike outs. While the losing pitcher for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters was Brayden Bonner (Dixie State) with three hits, two runs, and two strike outs.
Traverse City Pit Spitters 4, Rockford Rivets 8
The Rockford Rivets defeated the Traverse City Pit Spitters tonight finishing the game with a score of 8-4. Spitters Andrew Morrow (Michigan State) hit one home run, two hits, two RBIs, and one run. The Rivets Tim Lilly (Villanova) hit one double, two RBIs, and three runs during his time at the plate. The winning pitcher was Rockford’s Brad Littleton (Lewis) pitching five innings with four hits, three runs, three walks, and four strike outs. Joe Dittmar (Illinois-Springfield), the saving pitcher, came in the game for three innings with four hits, one run, and two strike outs. While, the Traverse City Pit Spitters losing pitcher was Evan Gates (North Carolina AT) giving six hits, five runs, five walks, and one strike out during his five innings at work.
Wisconsin Woodchucks 3, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 4
Another nail biting game of the night with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders taking the win in a last minute two scored run ninth inning over the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The ending score was a tight 4-3. The Woodchucks were in the lead until the ninth inning when the Spiders swooped two runs by Cherokee LeBeau (Oakland) and Thomas Jager (Robert Morris University). Fond du Lac’s Drew Hmieleski (Minnesota) had two RBIs and one hit. The winning pitcher was Ryan Miller (Benedictine) pitching for two innings with three hits, one run, and four strike outs. While the losing pitcher was Will Bausinger (Missouri Southern State) giving up three hits, two runs, one walk, and one strike out.
St.Cloud Rox 4, Mankato MoonDogs 6
The St. Cloud Rox took a hard loss to the Mankato MoonDogs after their shocking defeat in the eighth inning when the MoonDogs scored six runs to take the lead and win. The final score was 6-4. Rox’s Jordan Barth (Augustana University) had two RBIs and one hit. While MoonDog’s Nick Novak (Angelo State) hit a double and two RBIs during tonights shocking game. Mankato’s eighth inning was iconic with six runs, four hits, and one error. The winning pitcher was Shane Barring (Bellarmine) with zero hits, zero runs, and one strike out during his one inning at work. While Hayden Juenger (Missouri State) came in for one inning with the save giving up three hits, one run, zero walks, and two strike outs. The losing pitcher was St.Cloud’s Ryan Swanson (North Iowa CC) pitching a big seven innings with three hits, four runs, zero walks, and three strike outs.
Rochester Honkers 1, Thunder Bay Border Cats 3
The Thunder Bay Border Cats grab their second win of the season against the Rochester Honkers tonight with a final score 3-1. The Cats really took charge during the third through fifth inning scoring one run each. Thunder Bay’s Anthony Galati (Sacramento City College), Ryne Edmondson (Houston Baptist University), and Alexander Hernandez (Nova Southeastern (FL)) all had one RBI. The winning pitcher was Trent Valentine (Iona College (NY)) with four hits, one run, one walk, and five strike outs during his five inning period. Lucas Reid (Sacramento City College) came in the last three inning for the save giving zero hits, zero runs, and four strike outs. Rochester’s losing pitcher was Ryan Dorney (Saint Martins University) pitching five innings strong but with seven hits, three runs, two walks, and five strike outs.
Willmar Stingers 6, Bismarck Larks 0
The Willamr Stinger shut out the Bismarck Larks 6-0 during tonights game. The Stingers scored two runs during the third inning and kept the momentum going throughout the rest of the game scoring four more runs to take the win. Willmar’s Sam Baier (Augustana University) hit one home run, two RBIs, and three runs. Branden Boissiere (Arizona) and John Trousdale (Alabama) both had two RBIs for the Stingers. The losing pitcher was Larks Matt Gorman (Harford CC) pitching seven innings strong giving up two hits, four runs, three walks, and seven strike outs. While the winning pitcher was Stinger’s Jack Zigan (Minnesota State- Mankato) with four hits, zero runs, three walks, and four strike outs.
Battle Creek Bombers 4, Kalamazoo Growlers 6
The Battle Creek Bombers were defeated by the Kalamazoo Growlers 6-4 during tonights game. The two teams were tied at during the second inning both scoring three runs but in the fourth inning the Growlers started to take the lead and take the win. Kalamazoo’s Mike Rodriguez (Texas AM University) hit one home run, three RBIs, and two hits when at the plate. Matthew Patton (Central Arkansas) had two RBIs, one hit, and one run for the Bombers. The winning pitcher of the night was DJ Moore (Huntington University) pitching one inning with zero hits, zero runs, and one strike out. Will Mullen (Western Michigan University) came in with the save in the last inning giving up zero hits, zero runs, and one strike out as well for the Kalamazoo Growlers. While, Mitchell Lee (Lamar) was the losing pitcher for the Battle Creek Bombers with three hits, two runs, one walk, and zero strike outs.
Kenosha Kingfish 7, Kokomo Jackrabbits 2
The Kenosha Kingfish crushed the Kokomo Jackrabbits tonight with a final score of 7-2. The Kingfish came ready to play scoring four runs during the third and three runs in the fifth inning. Kenosha’s Charles Middleton (Sierra College) had two RBIs, one hit, and one run. Also, Rj Pearson (Oral Roberts University) hit a double in the third and one RBI. The winning pitcher was Kingfish’s Tanner Fallon (Loras College) pitching four innings with two hits, zero runs, one walk, and five strike outs. While the Jackrabbits losing pitcher was Owen Callaghan (IU-Kokomo) giving up five hits, four runs, four walks, and two strike outs.
