The Traverse City Pit Spitters started off the night with a strong pitching performance against the Kalamazoo Growlers. Spitters took the win 11-1. The Thunder Bay Border Cats shut out the Waterloo Bucks making a solid comeback in the top of the ninth. The final score was 4-0. The Battle Creek Bombers and Rockford Rivets went into extra innings with the Battle Creek Bombers capturing the win 8-7.
Eau Claire Express, Duluth Huskies
Tonight’s game in Eau Claire between the Express and the Huskies has been postponed due to weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow, June 15, in Eau Claire starting at 5:05. Both games will be seven innings.
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 5, Lakeshore Chinooks 9
The Lakeshore Chinooks beat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9-5. The Spiders tried to comeback in the top of the ninth scoring two runs but it wasn’t enough to capture the win. Chinooks Trent Bauer (Western Illinois) hit one home run, one RBI, and a double. Kellen Sarver (Illinois) received two RBI and a double for Fond du Lac. The losing pitcher was the Spiders, Aaron Funk (Arkansas- Little Rock). Lakeshore’s winning pitcher was Lukas Meerdink (Concordia Wisconsin) pitching three innings with two walks.
Thunder Bay Border Cats 4, Waterloo Bucks 0
The Thunder Bay Border Cats shut out the Waterloo Bucks 4-0 tonight. In the top of the ninth inning, the Cats scored three runs to capture the win over Waterloo. Thunder Bay’s Nate Soriano (Houston Baptist University) hit a double and one RBI. The winning pitcher was Austin Breazeale (Gateway CC (AZ)) pitching a solid six inning with no runs and four hits. Waterloo’s losing pitcher was Jack Parkinson (Rutgers).
Wisconsin Woodchucks 3, Madison Mallards 5
The Madison Mallards are back into action beating the Wisconsin Woodchucks 5-3. Adam Frank (FDU) hit two home runs and Byron Murray (Lynn University) hit one home run for the Woodchucks. Madison’s Nick Gile (Madison College) hit a double along with two RBI. The winning pitcher was Eliot Turnquist (Madison College) pitching five inning with seven strike outs. Theo Denlinger (Bradley) swooped in for the save and the losing pitcher was Wisconsin’s JC Ariza (Howard Community College) .
La Crosse Loggers 4, Willmar Stingers 14
The Willmar Stingers crushed the La Crosse Loggers with a double digit final score 0f 14-4. The Stingers came out of the gates in the bottom of the second scoring two runs and continued the momentum throughout the remainder of the game. Andrew Lucas (CSU-Northridge) had three RBI and one triple. The winning pitcher was Tyler Bosma (Miami (OH)) with no runs and one walk during his six innings of work. La Crosse losing pitcher was Landry Wideman (Texas AM).
Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 9, Green Bay Booyah 0
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters shut out the Green Bay Booyah with a final score 9-0. The Rafters had a consistent scoring game especially in the top of the eighth capturing four runs to take the lead over Green Bay. Osvaldo Tovalin (Azusa Pacific) and Peter Matt (Penn) hit one home run each. Tovalin received four RBI and Matt had two RBI for Wisconsin. The winning pitcher was Gareth Stroh (Nebraska) who gave up no runs and two hits during his seven strong innings at the mound. The losing pitcher was Green Bay’s Chris Jefferson (New Mexico State).
Bismarck Larks 4, Mankato MoonDogs 5
During the first two innings the Bismarck Larks had the lead scoring three runs but the Mankato MoonDogs came back during the bottom of the tenth inning to capture the win. The MoonDogs defeated the Larks with a final score 5-4. Larks Zack Gregory (Arkansas) hit one double along with two RBI. Taylor Jackson (Kirkwood CC) had two doubles and one RBI for Mankato. The losing pitcher was Bradley Collins (Mass Amherst) for Bismarck. The winning pitcher was Hayden Juenger (Missouri State) for the Mankato MoonDogs.
Rockford Rivets 7, Battle Creek Bombers 8
The Battle Creek Bombers won against the Rockford Rivets in extra innings scoring one run in the bottom of the eleventh to take the win. The final score was 8-7. In the bottom of the 11th, bases were all loaded by Battle Creek and Rhett McCall (Lamar) received on RBI to put the Bombers above the Rivets and capture the win.
Kokomo Jackrabbits 4, Kenosha Kingfish 5
The Kenosha Kingfish finally broke out of their losing streak beating the Kokomo Jackrabbits. The final score was a close 5-4. Jackrabbits Logan Jarvis (Belmont) had two RBI and hit a double. Kingfish’s Zachary Nogalski (Wisconsin-Milwaukee) received one RBI. The winning pitcher was Colton Gordon (Hillsborough Community College) who pitched two innings with no runs and no hits. The losing pitcher was Kingfish’s Bayden Root (Ohio State).
St. Cloud Rox 3, Rochester Honkers 1
The Rochester Honkers lost to the St. Cloud Rox in a close game with an ending game score of 3-1. St. Cloud consistently scored one run in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to take the win. Garett Delano (Brown University) hit one home run and one RBI for the Rox. The winning pitcher was Trevor Koenig (St. Cloud State) pitching a solid five innings giving up no runs and two hits. Joey Stock (St. Johns University) came in for the save. Rochester’s losing pitcher was David Lemasters (Lake Erie College).

The Traverse City Pit Spitters demolished the Kalamazoo Growlers with a 11-1 win. The Spitters came to win scoring four runs in the bottom of the first. Daniel Head (New Mexico State) had two RBI and one double for Traverse City. The winning pitcher was Andrew Hoffman (Oakland University) pitching seven inning strong with one run, two hits, and nine strike outs. The losing pitcher was Growlers Michael Paredes (San Diego State University).
