Torin Montgomery (Boise State) went 2-5 on Monday night with two runs scored to help the Bull Moose narrowly pick up their first win of the season, a 6-5 win over the Bismarck Larks.
Montgomery drove in a run in the top of the first, when he hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed a run to score, giving the Bull Moose a 1-0 lead. He would pick up a single in the third, and would make it all the way around to third base, where he was stranded to end the inning. After starting the 10th inning on second base due to the Northwoods League extra inning rule, he scored on a dropped third strike, giving the Bull Moose the lead.
