It was all smiles for the Bismarck Larks on Sunday afternoon, as they scored five runs in the first inning to pick up a 13-9 win for the over the Bismarck Bull Moose
Jaxon Rosencranz (Augustana) led the Larks offense, going 2-4 at the plate with a home run and five RBI. Brant Schaffitzel (Drury) went 3-5 on the afternoon, scoring three runs. Tanner Froehlich (Seton Hill) only picked up one hit, which was a two-run double in the first. Christian Seelhorst (Slippery Rock) picked up his first win of the season, throwing one and one-third relief innings, allowing no runs on no hits while recording a pair of strikeouts.
The Bull Moose offense got a huge jolt from Ben Teel (University of Montevallo), who went 4-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. He picked up his first RBI of the day the hard way when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth. His final two RBI came in the seventh inning when he singled to center field to bring in two runs and get the Bull Moose to within striking distance.
The Larks will be back in action on Monday when they take on the first-place Mandan Flickertails. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
