Getting the ball on opening day is a daunting task, but Willmar’s John Bezdicek (Southwest Minnesota State) had no issues on Wednesday night, as he turned in a quality start to lead the Stingers to a narrow 3-2 victory over the St. Cloud Rox.

Bezdicek threw six innings, allowing one earned run and allowing two hits while recording two strikeouts. It took the Rox until the top of the third to get a hit, and it took them until the sixth to put a run on the board.
