One night after having their game rained out, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and Rockford Rivets were back on the diamond for a doubleheader. The Dock Spiders took the first game, while the Rivets took the nightcap. In other action, the Loggers scored early and often en route to a 17-2 win over the Green Bay Booyah, while the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters picked up a win over the visiting Wisconsin Woodchucks.

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 4 Rockford Rivets 3 (7 innings)
There wasn’t a lot of offense in the first game of the doubleheader, but the Dock Spiders were able to slip past the Rivets on Wednesday afternoon. Ryan Ritter (Kentucky) was the offensive leader for the Dock Spiders, going 2-3 with an RBI. John Rhodes (Kentucky) was 1-3 with the one hit being a double while Victor Scott II (West Virginia) was 1-3 with a double and two runs scored. Jack Liffrig (Minnesota) got the win for the Dock Spiders, throwing two relief innings, allowing no runs and no hits and recording a pair of strikeouts. Theo Denlinger (Bradley University) picked up his second save of the season thanks to one scoreless inning, with one strikeout.

Rockford Rivets 7 Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 5 (7 innings)
The Rivets took advantage of a four-run fourth inning to top the Dock Spiders in the second game of the doubleheader. The Rivets were led by Branden Comia (Illinois), who was 2-3 on the night with an RBI, Matt Higgins (Bellarmine University) was 1-3 with a two-RBI double and a run scored while Ryan Hampe (Illinois) was 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Noah DeLuga (Minnesota) picked up the win for the Rivets after throwing two and two-thirds of an inning, allowing one earned run and recording a pair of strikeouts. Jake Lotz (Lewis University) picked up the save, throwing one shutout inning, allowing a hit and striking out two batters.

La Crosse Loggers 17 Green Bay Booyah 5
The Loggers had no problems on Wednesday night, though the Booyah did load the bases in the ninth inning and scored three runs, but the Loggers had enough of a cushion to withstand the onslaught. JT Thompson (Texas State) was one of the many offensive stars for the Loggers, going 2-5 at the plate with four RBI and three runs scored. Matt Stinebiser (Duke) was 2-4 on the night, with three runs scored and three RBI with a home run thrown in as well. Austin Murr (North Carolina State) finished the game 2-5, with two doubles and four runs scored for the Loggers. Jack Chester (Pepperdine University) had a solid relief outing for La Crosse, throwing two shutout innings with three strikeouts.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 9 Wisconsin Woodchucks 2
The Rafters bounced back on Wednesday night after falling to the Woodchucks on Tuesday thanks to a breakout performance from Andy Garriola (Old Dominion), who was 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Richie Schiekofer (Rutgers) was 2-5 on the night, with a run scored and two RBI. The pitching was on point for the Rafters, as Nathan Hemmerling (Lakeland University) got the start and turned in a gem, throwing four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and recording six strikeouts. Sam Hillboki (Vanderbilt) picked up the win after throwing four innings of his own, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out four batters.

Minnesota-Iowa Pod
St. Cloud Rox 7 Mankato Moondogs 0
Nick Mariconz (Cal Poly) was 2-4 on Wednesday night with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Rox to a shutout win over the Moondogs at Joe Faber Field. The game was scoreless in the bottom of the fifth when Mariconz jacked a solo home run over the left field fence to get the Rox on the board. They would add a second run a short time later when BARTH singled to the third baseman to score Luke Roskam (Nebraska). Luke Albright (Kent State) got the start for St. Cloud, throwing three shutout innings, allowing a hit and recording one strikeout. He gave way to Will Anderson (Minnesota) who threw two relief innings, recording three strikeouts to pick up the win.

North Dakota Pod
Mandan Flickertails 8 Bismarck Bull Moose 1
The Flickertails maintained their spot at the top of the North Dakota Pod standings with an 8-1 win over the Bull Moose. The win moves the Flickertails to 12-5 on the season and puts them 1.5 games ahead of the Larks in the standings. The Bull Moose are now 2-13 on the season. Adam Dapkewicz (Georgetown) brought the big bat for the FLickertails, going 2-3 at the plate with three RBI and one run scored. Cole Elvis (Cal-Berkley) finished the game 1-2 with two runs scored. Nick Hill (Nicholls State) picked up the win for the Flickertails, throwing five and one-third of an inning, allowing no runs and two hits while recording three strikeouts. Mandan did the majority of the damage in the top of the third, when they scored seven runs on three hits and one Bismarck error.
