Everything was going right for the Rivets on Sunday, as they beat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 28-7, setting a new Northwoods League record for runs scored. It was all thanks in part to Jake Vander Wal, who drove in a season-high eight runs in the offensive outburst.
Vander Wal was 3-5 at the plate, with a home run and three runs scored along with his eight runs batted in. On the season, he is batting .151 with a double, a home run and 14 runs batted in along with eight hits.
