The Bismarck Larks needed a ninth-inning rally on Monday night to top the Bismarck Bull Moose, but they were able to accomplish it, as they posted two runs in the top of the ninth to steal a win. The Kalamazoo Growlers took the first game from the Battle Creek Bombers on a walk-off, but the Bombers came storming back in game two to take a 5-0 lead, splitting the doubleheader.

The Growlers scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to walk-off the Bombers in game one of their doubleheader. Trent Quartermine (Ball State) was the hero, as he hit a double in the bottom of the fifth, allowing Ryan Marra (Brown) to score the game-winning run. Brett Barrera (Stanford) was the offensive leader for Kalamazoo, going 2-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI. He was the only Growler to record multiple hits. Chandler Schultz (Belmont) threw a complete game, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four batters to pick up his third win of the season.

The Bombers got their revenge in the nightcap, as four different pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout, including one inning of scoreless ball from Caleb Smith (Davenport University), who was credited with the win. Luke Murphy (Vanderbilt) threw two innings, allowing a hit and striking out three batters to pick up his second save of the season. Justin VanDeBrake (Washington State) was 1-3 at the plate, with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored, while Matthew Hogan (Vanderbilt) was 1-3 with an RBI.

It was a team effort for Traverse City, as five different Pit Spitters recorded hits, with Trey Yunger (Wofford College) being the only one to get multiple hits. Younger finished 2-4 on the night, while Spencer Schwellenbach (Nebraska) was 1-4, with a double and an RBI. Johnny Hipsman (University of Richmond) was also 1-4, with an RBI and a run scored. Braxton Bragg (Nebraska) got the start and threw four innings, allowing just one walk while striking out four batters. Cade Heil (University of North Georgia) followed him, throwing two scoreless innings to earn his third win of the season.

Willmar Stingers 2 Rochester Honkers 1
The Honkers loaded the bases in the ninth, but Willmar’s Jayson Newman (Cal State Northridge) came on and recorded back-to-back strikeouts to strand the tying run at third base, claiming his second save of the season for the Stingers. Eric Romo (Cal Poly-Ponoma) was credited with the win after throwing two shutout innings. Chase Stanke (Minnesota) was 2-4 for the Willmar offense, with a double, and RBI and a run scored. Cesar Lopez (Cal Poly-Ponoma) also finished 2-4, with the other RBI.
St. Cloud Rox 12 Waterloo Bucks 2
The Rox offense was rolling on Monday night, as they posted five runs in the fifth, then to top things off the scored four more in the eighth to take a 12-2 win. Logan Thomason (Eastern Kentucky University) was 2-5 for St. Cloud, with three RBI. Andrew Pintar (BYU) was 1-2, with a run scored, a double and two runs batted in. Nate Rombach (Texas Tech) was the other St. Cloud batter to record multiple RBIs, as he had two RBI on one hit and also scored a pair of runs. Landen Bourassa (University of San Francisco) got the start for the Rox and threw four innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five batters. Josh Gainer (LIU-Brooklyn) was credited with the win after throwing two shutout innings after entering the game in relief of Bourassa.

The Larks scored two runs in the top of the ninth to steal an 8-7 win from the Bull Moose on Monday night. Chase Adkison (Boise State) led the Larks offense, going 2-3, with a home run and three RBI. He was the only Lark to record multiple hits, and the only one to hit a home run. Six different Larks had hits on the night. Jordan Chappell (Minot State) picked up his third win of the season after throwing one scoreless inning, recording a strikeout. Blake Gallagher (Minot State) was credited with his sixth save of the season thanks to a perfect bottom of the ninth.
