As 22 teams compete tonight for the Northwoods League The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and St.Cloud Rox are the only teams that remain undefeated with a 5-0 record. The Mankato MoonDogs receive their fourth win of the season with the highest scoring game of the year. The MoonDogs generated 18 hits with 6 doubles and 20 runs.

Kalamazoo Growlers 9, Rockford Rivets 8

The Kalamazoo Growlers rallied back in the ninth inning to beat the Rockford Rivets 9-8. The Rivets struck first with a lead of seven runs to end the top of the 6th inning. The Growlers got the bats going with hits by Ethan Ruiz (Lamar University) and Brandon Moore (University of Montevallo) scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th.  Still behind going into the bottom of the ninth the Growlers were determined to find a way on base. They generated four walks, two hit by pitches and a single by Gannon Andrews (Purdue Northwest) scoring  4 runs to walk it off.

Kenosha Kingfish 12, Kokomo Jackrabbits 5

The Kenosha Kingfish kept the bats hot throughout the game defeating the Kokomo Jackrabbits 12-5. Parker Stinson (Indiana State University) had two hits including a home run in the 5th that scored two runs and a single. James Mccoy (University of Kentucky) also had a three run home run in the seventh that put his team up 10-3. Brady Counsell (University of Minnesota) came into the game as a pinch hitter to score the final two runs of the game with a single to center field.

Battle Creek Battle Jacks 4, Traverse City Pit Spitters 3

In a close hitting game the Battle Creek Battle Jacks pull off the win against the Traverse City Pit Spitters 4-3. Fisher Pyatt (San Diego State University) led his team going 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI. Garrett Martin (Middle Georgia State University) started the game for the Battle Jacks pitching 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts. In the top of the 8th Robbie Merced (Central Methodist University) drove a single to left field scoring the final two runs of the game.

The Mankato MoonDogs 20, La Crosse Loggers 5

The Mankato MoonDogs were unstoppable at the plate tonight defeating the La Crosse Loggers 20-5. Orlando Salinas (Kansas State University) led his team going 5 for 6 with a grand slam, double and three singles earning Northwoods League Player of the Night. Salinas also batted in seven of the MoonDogs’ runs. Derek Shoen (University of Mary) contributed with four hits including a home run, double, two singles and 5 RBI. The MoonDogs ended the game scoring 10 runs in the ninth inning.

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9, Madison Mallards 7

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders win their 5th game of the season against the Madison Mallards 9-7. Alejandro Macario (Nova Southeastern University) and Evan Stone (University of South Carolina) both had three hits a piece with 1 RBI. Heading into the top of the 6th inning down by 5 runs, Anthony Frechette (George Washington University) blasts a 3 run home run to put his team ahead 7-6. The Mallards bounced back scoring one run and sent the game into extra innings. The Spiders rallied in the 10th and scored two runs to end the game.

Wausau Woodchucks 9, Green Bay Rockers 3

The Wausau Woodchucks had an at home win tonight beating the Green Bay Rockers 9-3. Ernesto Lugo-Csnchola (Salt Lake Community College) had the start and the win on the mound pitching 5 innings with eight strikeouts. Daxton Purser (Salt Lake Community College) came into the game in the sixth to throw the remainder four innings with five strikeouts and allowed 3 hits. Dean Bittner (Mesa Community College) led his team with four hits including a double, triple and 1 RBI.

Duluth Huskies 6, Willmar Stingers 0

The Duluth Huskies had a home victory tonight against the Willmar Stingers 6-0. Kristian Campbell (Georgia Tech) started the Huskies with their first hit of the game driving a triple to left field. He later had a double and a single going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Isaac Cychosz (Bryant & Stranton College) had the win on the mound, throwing a total of seven innings and gaving up only three hits. The Huskies look to take the series against the Stingers tomorrow.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 6, Lakeshore Chinooks 3

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters improve their record to four and one as they defeat the Lakeshore Chinooks 6-3. Aidan Brewer (Hillsdale College) led his team going 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI single to start the rally in the fourth inning. Tommy Barth (East Tennessee State University) also had an RBI double in the fourth to put the Rafters ahead. Barth later had another double in the ninth.

Eau Claire Express 14, Waterloo Bucks 1

The Eau Claire Express took down the Waterloo Bucks in a 14-1 win. Ben Shepard University of Minnesota-Duluth)  had the win on the mound throwing the first six innings with seven strikeouts. Tyler Ingram (University of Illinois at Chicago) came into the game to throw the next two innings with five strikeouts. Charlie Szykowny (University of Wisconsin – Stout) had three hits with a grand slam in the eighth inning. Peter Brookshaw (North Dakota State University) and Reed Latimer (University of Montevallo) both had two hits with one double.

St.Cloud Rox 5, Minnesota Mud Puppies 2

The St.Cloud Rox stay undefeated and take down the Minnesota Mud Puppies 5-2. Our Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night went to Janzen Keisel (Brigham Young University) who threw five innings with 10 strikeouts. Keisel walked only two batters and did not give up a hit. John Nett (St. Cloud State University) started the game with a single and scored by Trevor Austin (Mercer University) who drove a hit up the middle. Net went 3 for 4 and Austin went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.

Rochester Honkers 7, Bismarck Larks 4

The Rochester Honkers defeated the Bismarck Larks 7-4. The Honkers struck first as Will Asby (Sacramento City College) drove an RBI double to center field in the third inning. AJ Campbell (Frostburg State University) provided insurance runs in the sixth inning hitting a home run that scored two runs. AJ Campbell had the win pitching five innings with six strikeouts and gave up only two hits.
