Friday’s Northwoods League games consisted of many rallied wins including an extra inning ball game by the Lakeshore Chinooks who took the first win of the series against the Fond du Lac Dock Spider with a walk off single. The Duluth Huskies also gave the St.Cloud Rox their first loss of the season in a 6-0 victory.

Kenosha Kingfish 12, Battle Creek Battle Jacks 2

The Kenosha Kingfish defeated the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 12-2. The Kingfish had an explosive offensive with 14 hits and scored in almost every inning. James Mccoy (University of Kentucky) went four for five at the plate with one RBI and one stolen base. Ian Collier (Grayson College) had two hits including the teams only home run and 5 RBI. Anthony Mangano (University of Iowa) was successful at each of his at bats going 3 for 3 with three singles, two RBI and one stolen base.

Traverse City Pit Spitters 4, Kokomo Jackrabbits 3

The Traverse City Pit Spitters rallied back to beat the Kokomo Jackrabbits 4-3. The Jackrabbits struck first scoring three runs in the first couple innings but the Spitters got their bats going with an RBI double by Jared Miller (Oakland University) scoring their first run of the game. Jake Smallwood (University of Montevallo) followed it up with a single to score Miller. Smallwood went 2 for 2 with two walks.

Mankato MoonDogs 1, Eau Claire Express 0 

The Mankato MoonDogs take down the Eau Claire Express in a 1-0 victory. The MoonDogs scored their only run in the bottom of the second inning with a home run by Orlando Salinas (Kansas State University). Owen Boerema (University of Northwestern, Saint Paul) had the win on the mound throwing eight complete innings with 10 strikeouts. Boerema earned Northwoods Pitcher of the Night for the second time this season.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 10, Green Bay Rockers 8 

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters defeated the Green Bay Rockers 10-8 to win their first game of the series. Ben Ross (Notre Dame College) started the first inning off with a home run to right field to score the first run of the game. Ross also homered again in the third inning to score two more runs. Tommy Barth (East Tennessee State University) led his team with 4 hits including three singles, one double and two RBI. Grant Manning (Chapman University) had the win pitching four innings with seven strikeouts.

Wausau Woodchucks 6, Madison Mallards 1

To win the first game of the series, the Wausau Woodchucks defeat the Madison Mallards 6-1. Ryan Sepede (Brigham Young University) had two hits including a home run in the eighth inning. Brock Watkins (Brigham Young University) went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. Ernosto Lugo-Csnchola (Salt Lake Community College) was the starting pitcher, throwing five innings with six strikeouts and allowing only one run to score.

Lakeshore Chinooks 9, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 8

In a thrilling 12 inning ball game, the Lakeshore Chinooks defeated the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9-8. With a tied score going into the bottom of the 12th inning Michael Seegers (University of Iowa) roped a single to right field to score the final run and walk off the game. Seegers went 3 for 5 with one RBI, one walk and one stolen base. Caleb Bartolero (Troy University) had three hits as well with a two run home run in the fourth inning. Matthew Deprey (Xavier University) had two hits including one home run, a double and three RBI.

Willmar Stingers 5, Waterloo Bucks 1

The Willmar Stingers rallied to take down the Waterloo Bucks 5-1. Drey Dirksen (Augustana University) had three RBI singles to lead his team. Brett Bateman (University of Minnesota) also had three singles and scored once as he reached base. John Klein (Iowa Central Community College) started on the mound throwing 8 complete innings with seven strikeouts and allowed only one run to score.

Rockford Rivets 4, Kalamazoo Growlers 1

For their sixth win of the season the Rockford Rivets take the win against the Kalamazoo Growlers 4-1. The Rivets scored their first run with a home run by Ty Crittenberger (Western Kentucky) and Luke Sefcik (Central Michigan University) who followed it up with an RBI single to score the second run of the inning. Ryan Hampe (University of Illinois) led his team with three hits including a double to start off the 4th inning.

The Duluth Huskies 6, St.Cloud Rox 0

The Duluth Huskies gave the St.Cloud Rox their first loss of the season in a 6-0 victory. Harrison Kreiling (University Nebraska Omaha) pitched a scoreless six innings with five strikeouts, gave up zero hits and allowed zero runs to score. Bobby Blandford (Fresno State University) went 2 for 4 with two doubles and 1 RBI. Kristian Campbell (Georgia Tech) and Noah Marcelo (Arizona Western College) both hit triples scoring 1 RBI each.

La Crosse Loggers 11, Bismarck Larks 9

The La Crosse Loggers defeated the Bismarck Larks in a 11-9 victory. The Loggers took the lead after scoring five runs in the eighth inning. Sam Siegel (Butler Community College) scored the first two runs of the inning with a single and Zac Rice (Chipola College) followed it up with a double to right field to score another run. Siegel and Rice both had two hits throughout the game. Aidan Sweatt (University of North Florida) also was a big factor in the offensive success with two singles and three RBI.
