Kalamazoo Growlers 8, Duluth Huskies 3

The Kalamazoo Growlers defeated the Duluth Huskies 8-3 to become the 2022 Northwoods League Champions! The Growlers struck first scoring their first three runs in the top of the second inning with two RBI singles by Casen Taggart (Centralia College) and Ryan Dykstra (Oakland University). Dykstra had two hits with one walk and two RBI. Alex Calarco (Northwestern University) led the offense with three hits including two doubles and a hit by pitch. Zach Spradlin (Ottawa University) reached base five times with three hits and two walks scoring once as he reached base. Anthony Stephan (University of Virginia) also had three hits with one RBI and one walk. Jerad Berkenpas (Grand Rapids Community College) started the game throwing the first six innings with two strikeouts allowing only one run to score.
