Three extra inning matchups cap off Thursday evenings games as the Bismarck Larks, Wausau Woodchucks, and the Kenosha Kingfish win game one of their series in those tight ball games. Many intense matchups were seen as teams across the league are fighting to stay consistent and find their way back into the win column in each division.

Duluth 6, Thunder Bay 8

The Thunder Bay Border Cats take game three against the Duluth Huskies winning 8-6 this evening. The Border Cats are now 4-5 on the season.

Tyler Kehoe (South Alabama) went 2-for-4 with a double, four RBI and one run scored, leading the team in RBI this evening. Logan Johnstone (Gonzaga) went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Trey Lewis (South Alabama) and Cole Ketzner (South Alabama) contributed to two RBI at the plate for the Border Cats. Peyton Fosher (Nevada) got the start throwing 1 inning with 7 hits, 6 runs, 1 ball, and 1 strikeout. Robert Spencer (Texas A&M – Kingsville) came in relief throwing 3.1 innings with 4 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, with two strikeouts.

Chinooks 4, Growlers 2

The Lakeshore Chinooks defeated the Kalamazoo Growlers in a tight 4-2 matchup this evening. The Chinooks have a 6-5 record on the season thus far.

Ben Hefel (Winona St) went 2-for-4 with a homerun, two RBI and one run this evening. Cody Kelly (Missouri St) went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBi and one run as well. Ryan Sell (Rock Valley Community College) gets the win for the Chinooks after throwing 6.2 innings with 5 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and three strikeouts.

Traverse City 14, Battle Creek 4

The Traverse City Pit Spitters take the early lead, scoring nine runs against the Battle Jacks to secure the game one win 14-4 tonight. Traverse City is back in the win column and got their eighth win of the season.

Cole Prout (Central Michigan) went 2-for-4 with a double, two walks, two RBI, and one run. Five batter from the Pit Spitters lineup contributed with two RBI on the evening. Camden Traficante (Embry Riddle) led the offense in RBI, going 1-for-6, with a double, three RBI, and one run. Jayden Dentler (Northwood) got the win tonight after throwing 5 innings – allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and two strikeouts.

Wausau 6, Madison 4

The Wausau Woodchucks win in an extra inning battle against the Madison Mallards, defeating them 6-4. The Woodchucks find themselves back in the win column after being swept by Wisconsin Rapid Rafters. They are now 7-4 on the season.

Jake English (Kansas) went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, and one run scored, leading the offense in runs batted in tonight. Luke Fernandez (Oklahoma St) got the start throwing 5.1 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 walks, and two strikeouts.

Kenosha 14, Kokomo 13

The Kenosha Kingfish win in a ten inning matchup against the Kokomo Jackrabbits. The Kingfish offense boasted twenty two hits and fourteen runs scored to defeat the JackRabbits 14-13.

Many players from Kenosha highlighted tonight’s offense after their aggressiveness at the plate this evening. Matt Wolfe (Vanderbilt) went 4-for-6 with a double and three runs scored. Vytas Valincius (Illinois) went 5-for-7 (.714) with three RBI and two runs. Isaac Williams (New Orleans) went 3-for-6 with a double, two RBI, and three runs scored. Brandon Nigh (Oakland) was also 3-for-6 on the night with a home run, two RBI, and four runs. The pitching staff combined for sixteen hits, nine walks, and ten strikeouts.

Minnesota 12, Minot 9

Minnesota gets their first win of the season after defeating the Minot Hot Tots 12-9 in Thursday evening’s matchup. They are now 1-2 to start the season.

Isaac Nett (Southwest Minnesota St) went 3-for-6 with one RBI and two runs scored. Luke Luskey (South Dakota St) went 3-for-4 with one RBI and three runs. Carson Hake (North Dakota St) led the team in RBI, with three on the night. Three players in the Mud Puppies line up had two RBI and one run scored. Fritz Meyer (North Iowa Area Community College) got the start throwing 4 innings – allowing three hits, five runs, four walks, and one strikeout. Caden Carsen (Minnesota St -Mankato) came in relief throwing 3 innings with three hits, one run, one walk, and five strikeouts. Minnesota’s staff combined for nine hits and nine strikeouts.

Eau Claire 3, Bismarck 4

The Bismarck Larks won an extra inning victory against the Eau Claire Express 4-3. Bismarck is 6-5 on the season, third in the Great Plains West division.

Benjamin Rosengard (Rice) went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored. Jackson Beaman had two RBI on the night while C.J. Cepicky (Illinois – Springfield) went 2-for-5 with one RBI. Jonny Lowe (Tyler Junior College) got the start throwing 5.2 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and five strikeouts. The Larks staff combined for seven hits and nine strikeouts.

Waterloo 2, St. Cloud 3

The St. Cloud Rox score three runs on six hits to defeat the Waterloo Bucks this evening.

Brady Prewitt (Colorado St), Ben Vujovich, and Jackson Hauge (Minnesota St – Mankato) each had one RBI this evening. Prewitt went 1-for-3 with one run. Vujovich (St. Thomas) had two hits on the night. Tyler Curtis (Colorado St – Pueblo) started for the Rox and threw 7 innings – allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and one strikeout. The Rox pitching staff combined for four hits and one strikeout.

Rochester 12, La Crosse 2

The Rochester Honkers scored twelve runs on fourteen hits to defeat the La Crosse Loggers 12-2 Thursday evening. Rochester leads the Great Plains East division with a 9-2 record.

Logan Mock (San Joaquin Delta College) went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI, and one run. Ben North (Creighton) had two RBI on the night. Petey Craska (Georgia Tech) went 1-for-3 with one RBI and one run. Jon Rossi (Roanoke College) started the game for the Honkers throwing 5 innings with six hits, two runs, zero walks, and one strikeout. Sean Head (San Joaquin Delta College) came in relief throwing 2 innings – allowing zero hits, zero runs, zero walks, and two strikeouts.

Wisconsin 9, Green Bay 4

The Wisconsin Rapid Rafters take game one of the series against Green Bay after defeating them 9-4 Thursday evening. They scored twelve runs on nine hits.

Chris Coniff (Wagner) went 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored. Jack Basseer (Pepperdine) went 3-for-5 with three double, one RBI,  and one run scored. Malakai Vetock (Creighton) got the start throwing 3 innings – allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and two strikeouts. The Rafters pitching staff combined for five hits and nine strikeouts.

Fond du Lac 0, Rockford 6

The Rockford Rivets shut down the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in a 6-4 matchup on Thursday evening. Rockford is 6-5 on the season.

Khalil Walker (Eastern Arizona) went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run scored. Aaron Harper (Northern Illinois) went 2-for-2 with two walks and one RBI. Brett Sears (Nebraska) got the win throwing 5 innings – allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk, and six strikeouts.

Mankato 2, Willmar 5

The Willmar Stingers win game one against the Mankato MoonDogs after defeating them 5-2 Thursday evening. They earned their seventh win of the season.

Sean Rimmer went 1-for-4 with three RBI on the evening. Kasten Furr (New Orleans) and Stone Miyao (Hawaii) contributed one RBI for the Stingers. Ray Cebulski (Point Loma Nazarene) ,who is 2-0, got the win for the Stingers after throwing 5 innings with three hits, one run, two walks, and four strikeouts. Willmar’s staff combined for six his and seven strikeouts tonight.
