The Kenosha Kingfish and Kalamazoo Growlers opened their series with a thirteen inning matchup ending in a 7-6 victory for the Kingfish. The pitching staffs for each team today combined for some outstanding performances, retiring multiple batters to help lead their teams to key wins to start week three.

 

St. Cloud 10, Thunder Bay 2

St. Cloud’s offense powers them to victory in game one against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. The Rox offense scored ten runs on thirteen hits.

Kyle Jackson (Kent St) led the offense this evening going 3-for-5 with a home run, double, 4 RBI, and two runs scored. John Nett (St. Cloud St) went 2-for-3 with three walks and one run scored. Reese Ripken (Kent St) went 2-for-4 with one walk, a double, and one run. Cade Lommel (Creighton) earned the win throwing 5 innings – allowing only three hits, two runs, four walks, and seven strikeouts.

Kenosha 7, Kalamazoo 6

The Kenosha Kingfish defeated the Kalamazoo Growlers 7-6 in thirteen innings to take game one of the series. They are now 7-8 on the season.

Bobby Atkinson (Heartland Community College) went 2-for-6 with a home run, one RBI, and two runs scored. Coleg Gober (Eastern Illinois) went 3-for-6 with one RBI. Lance Trippel (Florida St) had two hits and one RBI on the night. Jake Stipp (Eckerd) got the start throwing 3 innings – allowing two hits, two runs, and four walks.

Battle Creek 4, Kokomo 11

The Kokomo Jackrabbits sparked their offense to defeat the Battle Jacks 11-4 Monday evening.

Noah Christenson (Sioux Falls) went 3-for-4 with a double, walk, two RBI, and two runs. Tyler Cate (Sioux Falls) went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored. Karson Hesser (Northern St) led the Jackrabbits with three RBI, going 2-for-4 with one walk on the evening. Stephen Schlisser (Nova Southeastern) and Jonathon Laguire-Cruz (Franklin) combined for fourteen strikeouts, each getting seven of their own. Brayden Bock (Northern Oklahoma) came in the rotation throwing 1 inning – allowing three hits, four runs, three walks, and struck out one.

Eau Claire 1, Minot 11

The Minot Hot Tots defeat the Eau Claire Express 11-1, scoring eleven runs on twelve hit. The Hot Tots are now at a two game win streak.

Ryan Recio (Seminole St College of Florida) went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and three runs. Nic Pepe (Seminole St College of Florida) had three RBI on the night, leading the team. Rawley Hector (Louisiana Tech University) got the win throwing 5 innings – allowing three hits, zero runs, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Minnesota 8, Bismarck 5

The Minnesota Mud Puppies take game one against Bismarck after defeating them 8-5. They are now 4-3 on the evening.

Kyle Law (North Dakota St), Joe Roder (St. Thomas), and AJ Carter (College of San Mateo) each had a hit with two RBI on the night. Joshua Dykhoff (Minnesota – Crookston) got the start this game and threw 5 innings with two hits, zero runs, three walks, and eleven strikeouts.

Rochester 8, Duluth 9

The Duluth Huskies win their fourth game in a row after defeating the Rochester Honkers 9-8, walking it off in the bottom of the ninth to secure the win.

Joshua Duarte (Georgetown College) went 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs. Max Coupe (Skyline College) went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and two runs. He walked it off with an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Calyn Halvorson (Utah Valley) went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI, and one run scored. Colin Linder (Northwest Florida State College) got the start for the Huskies throwing 5 innings – allowing nine hits, three runs, five walks, and struck out seven batters.

La Crosse 1, Waterloo 4

The Waterloo Bucks are back in the win column after they defeated the La Crosse Loggers 4-1 Monday evening. They are now 5-10 going into week three of play.

Outfielder, Cole Hill (Stephen F. Austin State University) went 1-for-2 with one run, one RBI, and two walks. Jack Nathan (High Point) got the start and win throwing 4 innings – allowing only two hits, one run, one walk, and struck out one.

Wisconsin 5, Lakeshore 4

The Wisconsin Rapid Rafters win their ninth game of the season after defeating Lakeshore 5-4 in game one of their series. They are now 9-6 (.600) going into week three.

Ty Johnson (McClennan Community) and Chris Conniff (Wagner College) each went 2-for-4 with one run scored. Jack Gurevitch (San Diego) had a double and drove in two and scored himself. Franke Gulko (Salem) got the start for the Rafters throwing 4 innings- allowing four hits, three runs, two walks, and struck out five. Their pitching staff combined for seven hits and eleven strikeouts.

Wausau 2, Green Bay 8

The Green Bay Rockers see their way into the win column again after taking game one against Wausau this evening. They are now 8-7 and third in the Great Lakes West division.

Carlos Hernandez (Anderson) went 2-for-4 with two RBI this evening. Max Mims (Southwestern University) was 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. Cooper Kelly (Kansas) went 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and three runs. Jackson Murphy (Roanoke) got the win after throwing 5 innings – allowing four hits, one run, three walk, and one strikeout.

Traverse City 8, Rockford 1

The Traverse City Pit Spitters are on a five game win streak after taking game one against the Rockford Rivets. They now have a 12-3 (.800) record, leading the Great Lakes East division.

Devin Hukill (Ashland) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Camden Traficante (Embry Riddle) had three RBI and two runs scored on the night. Josh Lanham (Lenoir-Rhyne) earned the win after throwing 6 innings – allowing three hits, one run, two walks, and seven strikeouts.

Madison 8, Fond du Lac 6

The Madison Mallards defeat the Dock Spiders 8-6 after scoring eight runs on eight hits. The Mallards take game one and now have a 8-7 (.533) record.

Jayden Lobliner (Kansas St) went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and one run scored. Ryan Sprock (Elon) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and one run. Isaac Milburn (Eastern Kentucky) came in relief for the Mallards throwing 4.1 innings and allowing only two hits, zero runs, zero walks, and struck out five batters.

Mankato 2, Willmar 14

The Willmar Stingers put up numbers against the Mankato MoonDogs, scoring fourteen runs on thirteen hits with zero errors in the field. The Stingers get their eleventh win and lead the Great Plains West division with an 11-2 (.846) record.

Kevin Fitzer (California St – Northridge) went 2-for-3 with one RBI, three walks, and two runs. Graysen Tarlow (California St – Northridge) went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Gabe Swanson led Stinger’s offense with four RBI on the night with two hits. Scott Anderson (Point Loma Nazarene) went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI, and two runs. Marcos Herrand (Coppin St) got the win throwing 5 innings – allowing four hits, one run, one walk, and struck out one.
