After a day off due to weather delays, the Traverse City Pit Spitters grab the win in game one against Wisconsin Monday evening. The Pit Spitters and Rockford Rivets are tied for first in the Great Lakes Division with an 18-10 record on the season. Pitcher of the night, Kolten Smith, threw seven scoreless innings – striking out ten batters in Mankato’s offense to strip them of their win streak.

Madison 8, Kalamazoo 11

The Kalamazoo Growlers took game one of the series against the Madison Mallards Monday evening. The Growlers scored eleven runs on eleven hits, making only one error in the field. The Growlers sit with 15-13 record, ranking third in the Great Lakes East division.

Kevin Krill (Oakland) went 3-for-5 with one RBI double and one run scored.  Jimmy Nati (Stanford) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Gavin Lewis Jr. (Alabama – Birmingham) drove in two runs on the night. Sam Leck (Grand Valley St) earned the win after throwing 4.1 innings – recording one walk and three strikeouts.

Wausau 7, Battle Creek 5

The Wausau Woodchucks narrowly defeated the Battle Creek Battle Jacks Monday evening after ten intense innings. The extra inning matchup ended with a Wausau victory. They are leading the Great Lakes West with a 17-12 record.

Dalton Pearson (Georgia St) helped Wausau take the lead after driving in a  double in the top of the tenth, then later scored a few batters later making it 7-4. Colby Wallace (California St – Fullerton) went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Christian Clack (Alabama – Birmingham) earned the win throwing 1 inning of relief and allowed one hit, one run, three walks, and struck out three.

Wisconsin 1, Traverse City 3

The Traverse City Pit Spitters win game one of the series against the Wisconsin Rapid Rafters. The Pit Spitters lead the Great Lakes division with an 18-10 record.

Jack Crighton (Clemson) went 2-for-4 with one run scored. Glenn Miller (Eastern Michigan) had a team leading two RBI on the night, driving those in with a double. Aren Gustafson (Master’s University) earns his second win on the mound after throwing 7.2 innings and allowed seven hits, one run, zero walks, and struck out three.

Minot 1, Bismarck 6

The Bismarck Larks begin week five with a win Monday evening after taking game one against the Minot Hot Tots. The Larks tallied twelve hits on the night to their twelfth win of the season.

Nick Oakley (California – Santa Barbara) went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI on the night. Luke Hammond went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Nick Johnstone (South Suburban College) tallied two hits, one being a double with one RBI. Jack Herring (Rollins College) drove in a two run home run to extend the Larks lead. Jonny Lowe (Tyler Junior College) earned the win throwing 6 innings – allowed only four his, zero runs, five walks, and struck out eight.

St. Cloud 4, Mankato 0

The St. Cloud Rox shut down the Mankato MoonDogs 4-0, stripping the MoonDogs of their win streak going into week five. The Rox are now at a 16-11 record on the season.

Five batters in St. Cloud’s lineup tallied at least two hits on the evening. Matt Goetzman (Nebraska – Omaha) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Chipper Beck (Brigham Young) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Kolten Smith (Georgia) earned the win after throwing 7.1 innings – allowing five hits, zero runs, one walk, and ten strikeouts.

La Crosse 6, Waterloo 2

The La Crosse Loggers take game one of their series against Waterloo, tallying six runs on eleven hits to win 6-2 Monday evening. The Loggers rank fifth in the Great Plains East, earning their tenth win on the season.

Matthew Piotrowski (California St – Los Angeles), Justin DeCriscio (San Diego), and Gabe D’Arcy (San Diego) each tallied two hits and one run. Six batters in the Loggers lineup drove in one run tonight. Josh Leerssen (Birmingham- Southern College) earned the win on the mound after throwing 6 innings – allowed only one hit, zero runs, and struck out one this evening.

Kokomo 2, Kenosha 4

The Kenosha Kingfish take game one against the Kokomo Jackrabbits, defeating them 4-2. The Kingfish are at a 14-14 record on the season.

Matt Wolfe (Vanderbilt) went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Henry Brown (Indiana St), Camden Janik (Illinois), and Vytas Valincius (Illinois) each tallied an RBI on the evening. Mason Morris (Mississippi) earned the win after throwing 3.1 innings – allowed only one hit, zero runs, three walks, and eight strikeouts.

Fond du Lac 3, Green Bay 4

The Green Bay Rockers defeated the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in a tight 4-3 matchup Monday night. The Rockers are tied with the Wausau Woodchucks with a 17-12 record.

Seven batters in Green Bay’s lineup tallied at least one hit on the evening. Kyle West (West Virginia) had a team leading two hits with one RBI. Nick Miller (Anderson) earned his first win on the mound throwing 2 innings – allowed only one hit, zero runs, two walks, and struck out two. Brett Sanchez (Belhaven) got the start striking out nine batters in six innings.

Lakeshore 6, Rockford 7

The Rockford Rivets defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks 7-6, driving seven runs across on eight hits. Rockford ranks second behind Traverse City in the Great Lakes division.

Khalil Walker (Eastern Arizona) and Dustin Allen (San Diego) combined for six RBI on the night, each of them tallying three of their own. Walker went 3-for-4 with a home run and one run scored. Allen drove in three with two home runs on the evening. Aaron Harper (Northern Illinois) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Jacob Davis (Missouri Southern St) earned his third win on the mound this evening after coming in relief for the Rivets in the eighth inning. Ty Hutto (Alabama – Birmingham) started the game throwing 5 innings and struck out five batters.

Thunder Bay 3, Eau Claire 1

The Thunder Bay Border Cats get the first win of the series against the Eau Claire express, defeating them 3-1. The Border Cats lead the Great Plains East with a 15-10 record. Eau Claire sits right below them with a 15-12 record.

Travis Chestnut (Texas A&M) tallied one hit with one RBI and two runs scored. Cole Ketzner (South Alabama) and Patrick Engskov (Oklahoma) were the other two in Thunder Bay’s lineup to drive in one run on the night. Billy Humphrey (Western Illinois) earned his fourth win on the mound this season after throwing 1.1 innings with zero runs, zero hits, and zero walks. Evan Hendricks (Texas A&M – Corpus Christi) started the game allowing only two hits and struck out seven batters.

Minnesota 6, Willmar 7

The Willmar Stingers come from behind to defeat the Minnesota Mud Puppies 7-6 Monday evening. The Willmar Stingers rank number one in the Great Plains division with a 21-6 record.

Chris Rofe (Mount Mary College) earned the win throwing 1 inning and struck out three batters. Jack Hines (Augustana) and Graysen Tarlow (California St  – Northridge) each tallied two hits and combined for two runs and one RBI. Sean Rimmer (Hawaii) tallied two RBI on the night.
