The Northwoods League featured a twelve game slate on Sunday that started off with a series split between the Thunder Bay Border Cats and Rochester Honkers. The Border Cats were down 2-0 and came back winning two in a row to tie the series. The Waterloo Bucks swept the Eau Claire Express after getting a walk off win in game two, upsetting the Express 4-3. Kalamazoo tallied their third win on the season after walking off in extra innings against Kenosha earlier this afternoon. The Kokomo Jackrabbits put an end the Battle Creek’s win streak after dropping the first four games against them.
Rochester 4, Thunder Bay 10**
The Thunder Bay Border Cats split the series 2-2 after taking game two 10-4 against the Rochester Honkers.
Zane Skansi (Creighton) went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Daylan Pena (Texas St) went 2-for-3 with two RBI on the day. Logan Johnstone (Washington St) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and one run scored. Patrick Engskov (Oklahoma) tallied two RBI off a single and scored three times. Jack Pineau (Creighton) got the start on the mound throwing 4.1 innings – allowed four hits, one run, three walks, and four strikeouts.
Rockford 4, Lakeshore 5
The Lakeshore Chinooks split the series so far against the Rockford Rivets, taking game two 5-4.
Avery Owusu-Asiedu (Southern Illinois – Edwardsville) went 2-for-2 with a two run home run. Brady Counsell (Michigan) went 1-for-2 with a walk and scored once. Ryan Mullan (Loyola Marymount) earned the win throwing 6 innings and allowed nine hits, four runs, one walk, and seven strikeouts.
Rockford 1, Lakeshore 3
The Lakeshore Chinooks win the series 2-1 after sweeping their double header against Rockford Sunday evening.
Drew Townsend (Missouri St) went 1-for-1 with three walks and one RBI. Brady Counsell (Minnesota) and Adam Cootway (Wisconsin – Whitewater) were two others who each tallied one RBI as well. James Reese (Lafayette) earned his third win on the mound throwing 2.2 innings and allowed two hits, one run, zero walks, and two strikeouts.
Traverse City 5, Wisconsin Rapids 16
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters scored sixteen runs to top Traverse City in game two of the series, getting the series split 1-1.
Sidney Ferry (Wisconsin – Stevens Point) earned the win after coming in relief throwing 2 innings and allowed zero runs, zero hits, zero walks, and one strikeout. Jack Gurevitch (San Diego) went 5-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, and four runs scored. Hogan Helligso (Creighton) tallied two hits and two RBI on the day. Garrett Broussard (Utah Valley) went 4-for-6 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored.
Fond du Lac 9, Green Bay 10
The Green Bay Rockers walk off in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Dock Spiders 10-9 Sunday afternoon. The Rockers split their series against the Dock Spiders 1-1.
Carlos Hernandez (Anderson) went 3-for-5 with a double and one run scored. Cooper Kelly (Kansas) went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Matteo Matthews (Wagner College) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and scored once. Tyler Horvath (Case Western Reserve University) earned the win after coming in relief throwing 1 inning and allowed one hit, zero runs, zero walks, and one strikeout.
Kalamazoo 10, Kenosha 9
Kalamazoo win the series after getting into extra innings in game two against the Kenosha Kingfish. The Growlers scored two go ahead runs at the top of the tenth to secure the win.
Luke Mitchell (Montevallo) went 1-for-2 with a walk and three RBI on the day. Jeter Ybarra (Washington) went 2-for-4 with two walks, one RBI, and two runs scored. Henry Godbout (Virginia) tallied two hits and two RBI at the plate this afternoon. Tyler Johnson (Alma College) got the start throwing 5 innings and allowed seven hits, two runs, one walk, and three strikeouts. Carson Byers (Miami – Ohio) got the win throwing 2 innings of relief and allowed only two hits, one run, one walk, and struck out two.
Eau Claire 3, Waterloo 4
The Waterloo Bucks win the series after taking game two in walk-off fashion. The Bucks were trailing by two in the bottom of the ninth and rallied three runs across to make it 4-3.
Brandon Fish (Massachusetts – Lowell) and Ben Wilmes (Iowa) each went 2-for-5 with one RBI on the day. Six batters tallied at least one hit to secure the win. Luke Llewellyn (Iowa) earned the win throwing 1 inning and allowed zero hits, zero runs, one walk, and struck out two. The pitching staff combined for nine hits and eight strikeouts on the day.
Minnesota 6, Duluth 16
The Duluth Huskies swept their series against the Minnesota Mud Puppies, taking game two 16-6 Sunday afternoon.
Joshua Duarte (Georgetown College) went 5-for-5 with two doubles, one home run, three RBI, and scorev five different times. Calyn Halvorson (Utah Valley) tallied two hits with two RBI and two runs scored. Ethan Walker (Walters St Community College) earned his first win on the mound throwing 3 innings and allowed six hits, three runs, two walks, and two strikeouts.
Battle Creek 6, Kokomo 9
The Kokomo Jackrabbits finally get their first win against Battle Creek after dropping the first four games of the series against them.
Tyler Ganus (Oregon) went 5-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Nolan Christianson (Dordt) went 1-for-3 with four RBI on the day. Noah Christenson (Sioux Falls) went 2-for-3 with two RBI. CJ Fleeman (Missouri Southern St) earned the win throwing 4.1 innings – allowing five hits, one run, one walk, and two strikeouts.
Willmar 7, Mankato 6
The Willmar Stingers defeated the Mankato MoonDogs 7-6 Sunday evening, splitting the series 1-1 over the weekend.

The St. Cloud Rox swept their series against Bismarck, defeating them 10-3 in game two.
