The Great Lakes East division defeated the Great Lakes West Division 13-10 in nine innings during the Great Lakes All Star Home Run Challenge Monday evening. Kokomo’s Roman Kuntz (Morehead State) won the challenge in the ninth to secure the win for the Great Lakes East. Brandon Nigh (Oakland) took home the individual title after hitting five home runs during the challenge. Both divisions will face off in All Star Game tomorrow at Turtle Creek Stadium at Traverse City at 7:05 PM.

The Northwoods League featured a five game slate in the midst of the home run challenge Monday evening. The Thunder Bay Border Cats stopped the La Crosse Loggers win streak, defeating them 8-5. The Willmar Stingers lost their four game win streak after dropping game one against St. Cloud 13-4.

 

La Crosse 5, Thunder Bay 8

Tyler Kehoe (South Alabama) went 4-for-4 with one run scored Monday evening. Brayden Kuriger (Nicholis State – LA) went 1-for-4 with a two RBI double and scored once. Blake Warner (Viterbo University) went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Riely Hunsaker (Texas A&M – Corpus Christi) earned the win throwing 5.1 innings and allowed six hits, one run, one walk, and three strikeouts.

Minot 2, Eau Claire 5

Reed Latimer (Alabama – Birmingham) went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Ryan Nagelbach (Illinois – Chicago) led Eau Claire’s offense tallying three RBI off a home run this evening. Rayth Petersen (Illinois – Chicago) drove in two runs with a single. Isaiah Katz (Wisconsin – La Crosse) earned the win throwing 5 innings and allowed five hits, one run, zero walks, and seven strikeouts.

Duluth 14, Bismarck 7

Brandon Compton (Arizona St) went 4-for-6 with a double, two home run, three RBI, and four runs scored. Jared Mettam (Saint Mary’s College) went 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI, and scored twice. Michael Hallquist (Minnesota – Crookston) tallied three hits on the night with one run scored. Liam Thompson (Cisco Junior College) earned the win throwing 5 innings and allowed five hits, four runs, zero walks, and four strikeouts.

Rochester 2, Waterloo 4

Elliot Good (Central Connecticut St University) went 2-for-3 with a walk and double. Will Marcy (Memphis) went 1-for-2 with one RBI on the night. Greg Nichols (Illinois St) got a pinch hit two RBI single and scored once. Ethan Alexander (Western Illinois) earned the win throwing 1 inning and allowed zero hits, zero runs, zero walks, and two strikeouts.

St. Cloud 13, Willmar Stingers 4

Oscar Serratos Jr (Biola University) went 4-for-5 with two double, a home run, four RBI, and scored four times. Kyle Jackson (Kent St) also went 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, a home run, three RBI, and scored twice. Jackson Hauge (Minnesota – Mankato) went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Wes Burton (Indiana) earned the win throwing 5 innings and allowed four hits, three runs, one walk, and four strikeouts.
