Border Cats Announce new Manager for 2014
The 33-year old native of Brooklyn, NY., is currently an assistant coach at Long Island University-Brooklyn. Hernandez was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 15th round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft and played professionally in the Cardinals organization as well as Independent League baseball with the Bridgeport Bluefish and Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League.
Northwoods League Releases Top 200 Prospect Report
(ROCHESTER, MN) – The Northwoods League today announced their top 200 prospects from the 2013 season. The list was compiled by Bradley Smart from Smart on Sports after discussions with all 16 Field Managers in the Northwoods League.
Rafters Announce Front Office Promotions
Wisconsin Rapids, WI – October 1st, 2013. With the fourth season of Rafters baseball in the books the team has announced changes in the front office. Liz Kern, who has served as the General Manger each of the Rafters first four seasons, has been named Vice President of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and John Fanta, who has been Kern’s Assistant General Manager since the team’s inception, has been named General Manager. Both Kern and Fanta will continue to reside in Wisconsin Rapids.
Northwoods League to have Divisional Realignment for 2014 Season
(ROCHESTER, MN) The Northwoods League has announced that the Eau Claire Express will be moving to the North Division starting in 2014. The move was necessary with the expansion franchises in Kalamazoo, MI and Kenosha, WI joining the league next season.
Express add Borden to full-time staff
Eau Claire, Wis. – September 17, 2013 – The Eau Claire Express front office announced the hiring of Michael Borden to the full-time staff as the Director of Ticket Sales. Michael has spent the past two summers on the Express staff, first as a marketing intern before rejoining the team in January of this year on a part-time basis overseeing ticket sales and marketing.
Final Five Names Announced for new Kalamazoo Team
On September 23, 2013, Kalamazoo Baseball is unveiling the five finalists for the new team name on www.kzoobaseball.com. From September 23 – October 7, fans can vote online for their favorite name. All votes will be taken into consideration and the chosen team will be announced at the Opening Event at Homer Stryker Field scheduled for mid-November.
Morgan to Return as Manager for 2014 Season
The Lakeshore Chinooks announced Monday morning that field manager Eddy Morgan would be returning to his role of field manager for the 2014 season.
