Welcome and thank you for expressing an interest in the Northwoods League. Please let us take a minute to share a little background information with you on the League, and explain how our video production operations can provide a benefit to your organization.
The Northwoods League is considered by many in baseball to be the premier summer collegiate baseball league in the world, with over 1000 players each season, over 1,000,000 fans attending the games each season, approximately 90 alumni drafted into MLB every season, and more than 100 alumni on active rosters for MLB teams each season, and with all the numbers growing on a seasonal basis. In addition to being a wonderful development league for college baseball players and fashioned after the minor league baseball experience, the League also prides itself in having a respectable video production operation. The video production operation was started in 2010 with fairly simple equipment and has grown into a sophisticated 4-camera high definition production at each of our 23 ballparks, producing more than 800 live games each season. The games are available on our online platform and can also be viewed on Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Android TV and Roku. and two games nightly on ESPN+.
In 2016, the Northwoods League envisioned, created, and implemented a system to provide a wonderful service for our media partners, free of charge, and we have received significant positive feedback on the program since that inaugural season. Essentially what the League created was a system to provide each media partner with complimentary access to the Leagues game highlights, on a nightly basis for their local Northwoods League team for both the home games AND the away games. The highlights are accessible during the game as they are captured and allow tv stations to utilize them during the nightly news, and provides the benefit of saving the manpower and time that it requires to send individuals to the local ballpark for the home games, and of course it provides highlights of away games as well, which were previously not practical for tv stations to acquire themselves.
