Strong Pitching Performance
Mike Strong (Oklahoma State) continued his great pitching for the Rochester Honkers by throwing a gem against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. Strong, who leads the league in strikeouts, threw 7.0 innings of four hit baseball while striking out six. Strong is currently 3-1 in 34 innings pitched. Strong was drafted in the 2009 MLB Draft in the 25th round by the Chicago White Sox.
Jaramillo Shuts Down Bullfrogs
Rudy Jaramillo improved his record to 2-1 on the season for the Eau Claire Express while he helped beat the Green Bay Bullfrogs 9-0. Jaramillo threw 7.0 innings of scoreless baseball while only giving up two hits. The lefty currently has a 1.29 ERA in 28 innings pitched. Jared Wagoner (Butler) of the Waterloo Bucks also threw a great game.
Simon Shuts Down Bombers
Kodey Simon (Winona State) led the La Crosse Loggers to victory over the Battle Creek Bombers by a score of 2-0. Simon threw 7.0 innings of three hit baseball while not giving up a run. Simon improved to 1-1 on the season with a 2.29 ERA and a save. For Winona State this season, Simon was 4-1 with four saves and a 2.97 ERA in 36.1 innings pitched.
Barrett Beats Woodchucks
Billy Barrett (Illinois) improved his Waterloo Bucks record to 2-1 on the season with his solid performance Wednesday night. Barrett threw 6.0 innings of one run baseball while the Bucks beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 4-1 at Athletic Park. The Homer Glen, IL native improved his ERA to 2.10 in 25.2 innings pitched. Jonathan Montoya threw well in relief for the MoonDogs to earn the win after throwing 3.0 innings of scoreless baseball.
Massey Throws Complete Game
Taylor Massey (Dallas Baptist) was at it again Tuesday night for the Waterloo Bucks as he moved to 4-0 on the season. Massey threw a complete game two hitter while the Bucks beat the Battle Creek Bombers 3-0. Massey walked three in the game, but also struck out three. His ERA is now at 0.69 in 39.1 innings pitched. This is his second shutout of the season for the Bucks.
Collier Cools Down Border Cats
Robbie Collier (North Florida) threw well for the Duluth Huskies as they beat the Thunder Bay Border Cats in game one of the double header 3-1. Collier threw 6.0 innings while surrendering only two hits and one earned run. The lefty moved to 3-1 on the season with a 2.03 ERA while striking out 26 in 26.1 innings pitched. Collier was 4-1 for North Florida in 2010 while throwing 41.0 innings.
Anderson At It Again
Brainerd native Nick Anderson (St. Cloud State) earned the win for the Lunkers today after beating the Duluth Huskies 2-1. Anderson threw 7.0 innings of scoreless baseball while giving up only three hits. Anderson lowered his ERA to 0.33 and improved to 3-0 on the season. He has pitched 27 innings this season while striking out 18 and walking only six.
Flemer Fans Nine
Matt Flemer (California Berkeley) threw a complete game five hitter Saturday night against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Flemer only gave up one run over 9.0 innings while striking out nine and walking two. His season ERA is currently at 0.95 with a 4-0 record. He has pitched 28.1 innings on the season and struck out 27 while walking only six. Flemer had 19 appearances from the Golden Bears while pitching 31.2 innings on the season.
Hurlbut Mows Down River Bats
Rochester Honker pitcher David Hurlbut (Cal State Fullerton) earned his first win of the season by beating the St. Cloud River Bats 5-3. Hurlbut threw 8.0 solid innings while giving up four hits and surrendering zero runs. The 6’4’’ lefty lowered his ERA to 1.53 and has thrown 17.2 innings on the season while striking out 15. Hurlbut was 2-0 this season for Cal State Fullerton in 17 appearances.
Enns Wins It for Express
The Eau Claire Express and La Crosse Loggers were in a pitcher’s duel Thursday night in Eau Claire. Dietrich Enns (Central Michigan) came out with the win after throwing 8.0 innings while giving up six hits. Enns gave up one run while striking out seven and walking three. The Express starter now moves to 1-1 on the season with a 1.71 ERA. Tony Mueller (Winona State) was the tough luck loser giving up one earned over 6.0 innings. Enns earned first-team All-MAC honors and became the first Chippewa to win the MAC Freshman of the Year award this spring. The Frankfort, Ill., native went a perfect 7-0 pitching mostly out of the bullpen. His 2.12 ERA is currently the 14th-best figure in the country while his 5.16 hits per nine innings ranks third and his 9.71 strikeouts per nine innings 58th.

Olson Throws Another Complete Game
Charley Olson (Georgia State) was at it again Wednesday night on the mound. He threw a complete game against the Rochester Honkers while striking out four and only giving up one earned run. Olson moves to 3-2 on the season with 31 strikeouts in 38 innings pitched. He also has only walked seven batters in the 38 innings pitched.
Massey Mows Down Rafters
Taylor Massey (Dallas Baptist) put on a show Tuesday night for the Waterloo Bucks. Massey improved his record to 3-0 with a complete game seven hitter. He currently has a 0.84 ERA in five games started. The lefty from Fort Worth, TX struck out six Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in a 15-0 blowout at Witter Field in Wisconsin.
