Baumgartner Single Wins It In 10th For Huskies

Todd Baumgartner's (Arkansas St) fourth hit of the night was a big one as he drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Duluth Huskies the victory over Mankato. Baumgartner was 4-5 with the RBI in Duluth's 2-1 win over the first half North Division champions.

O’Grady’s Ignites Lunkers Again

Brainerd's Dennis O'Grady (Duke) finished 3-for-4 on the night with two singles, a double, a walk, three runs scored, and 2 RBI. O'Grady knocked a two-run double off the left field wall in the 6th inning to put the Lunkers up for good as they went on to defeat Duluth 9-5. O'Grady has now been named the Player of the Night twice while also earning three Pitcher of the Night awards.

Parque Drills First Homerun, Four Hits

Listed at a generous 5'9", Jimmy Parque (St. John's) has filled in nicely at the top of the order for Manager CJ Thieleke's club. Parque went 4-5 Monday, including his first home run of the season and now has eight hits in his last three games.

House Homer Leads Bullfrogs

After a single and a walk, Jacob House (Arkansas) belted his third home run of the season in the first inning to give Green Bay a 3-0 lead. The Bullfrogs went on to defeat Waterloo 8-4. House finished 1-2 with two runs scored and four RBI.

Patterson’s Blast Leads Mallards

Waterloo held a 2-1 lead before the Mallards erupted for three runs in the third on a towering three-run blast over the center field wall by catcher Joe Patterson (Texas A&M), part of a three-for-three, three-RBI night. The Mallards went on to win 6-5 and move a game ahead of Waterloo and just a half game behind first place La Crosse.

Brantly Helps Loggers Extend Lead In South

Robert Brantly (UC-Riverside) got the scoring started for La Crosse with an RBI single in the top of the first inning and finished it off with a solo home run in the eighth inning. He added another RBI in the third inning and accounted for 3 of the 4 Logger runs by going 2-4 with a run scored and 3 RBI's as La Crosse defeated Green Bay 4-2 to give the Loggers a 1.5 game lead in the South Division.

Conway Runs Through Express

Aaron Conway (Missouri St.) finished 6-for-10 on the day in the Green Bay Bullfrogs double header split with Eau Claire. Conway's speed was on full display as he had a triple, scored four runs, stole three bases, and drove in one.

Renda Helps Bats Bounce Back

Tony Renda (California) was a pefect 3-3 with four runs for the River Bats in their 8-4 win over Mankato, one night after getting no-hit. Renda reached base in all five of his plate apperances, tripling, singling twice and adding a walk, hit by pitch and stolen base.

Moore Slugs Border Cats Past Beetles

Walker Moore (Cal State Fullerton) had two doubles and a home run for the Thunder Bay Border Cats in their 11-2 thrashing of the Alexandria Beetles at Port Arthur Stadium. Moore was 3-5 with two runs scored, an RBI and hit by pitch.

Tommasini’s Bat, Glove Fuel Honkers Win

John Tommasini (Oregon State) was inserted in to the top of the order and he led the way for the Rochester Honkers with a 3-for-3 day and two runs scored as Rochester defeated St. Cloud 4-2. He also walked twice, reaching base in all five plate appearnces. With the tying run on base Tommasini made an excellent diving stop at second base to earn the final out of the game.

Kvasnicka’s 10th Inning Single Lifts Lunkers

With one out and men on first and second in the tenth, Mike Kvasnicka (Minnesota) shot a dagger through the Mankato MoonDogs heart and lifted the Lunkers to the 1-0 win at Mills Field. Kvasnicka was 2-4 with the RBI on the night.
