As assistant sports director, he provided play-by-play and color commentary for San Jose State baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer and volleyball broadcasts as well as being an on-air personality on their weekly sports talk show. He also worked in the San Jose State athletic department as a broadcast intern this past year, handling play-by-play and color commentary for various San Jose State athletic events. At SJSU, Knaster covered San Jose State baseball for four seasons, amounting over 75 games from a variety of different venues.

His broadcasting highlights include covering San Jose State’s 29-20 win over Bowling Green State in the 2012 Military Bowl and SJSU’s historic 62-52 upset over no. 16 Fresno State in November of 2013.
