Clay Ardeeser joins the Rox in his junior season at Georgia College and State University and is off to a quick start for St. Cloud as he is currently leading the Northwoods League in doubles (7), while placing in the top-five in batting average (.365), hits (19) and base-on-balls (13) through 15 games in 2014. Ardeeser had a tremendous junior season at GCSU in 2014, leading the Bobcats in batting average (.423), at bats (201), hits (85), runs (59), doubles (19) and RBIs (63). He also smacked 10 home runs, held a slugging percentage of .687 and totaled 138 bases while starting in 50 of 51 games for GCSU. As a sophomore he led the team in batting average (.369) while tallying 17 doubles, nine home runs and a team-high 59 RBIs.

How old were you when you started playing baseball? I probably started playing when I was about 3 or 4 years old.

Who is your favorite baseball player in the majors? Brandon Phillips

Who is your favorite baseball team? Philadelphia Phillies

What are your hobbies or things you like to do for fun? I like to play sports and watch TV, and play video games.

What is your favorite movie? The Hunger Games

What is something most people don’t know about you? I was born and raised in Georgia and I have never been hunting.

What is your most memorable baseball moment? Winning the 2013 Peach Belt Conference Tournament at Georgia College and State University.

What is your pre-game ritual? I just try to relax and calm the nerves.

What advice would you give to young baseball players? Don’t over-think the game, let it come to you. It is just a game in the long run so have fun.

What is your favorite restaurant? Steak and Shake, Zaxby’s, Cookout

Who is someone you would like to meet? Ryan Howard

Who is the person with the greatest influence on your career? I would say my father has had the greatest influence on my career.

What are some other sports you enjoy? Baseball, football and soccer

Where is your hometown and high school? I am from Loganville, Georgia and went to Grayson High School.

What is your major in college? I am majoring in Exercise Science at Georgia College and State University.

What sport would you play if not baseball? Basketball.
