Duluth, MN – The St. Cloud Rox continued their dominating stretch Sunday night as the offense scored six times in the last three innings and totaled 14 hits in the game to defeat the Duluth Huskies 8-3 at Wade Stadium. The win gives the Rox six straight victories in the early portion of the second half and nine wins in their last 10 games as they now sit in sole possession of first place in the North Division with a second half record of 9-4.
For the Rox, five players tallied multiple hits in the win, as Eric Loxtercamp led the way going 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored. Boo Vazquez picked up two hits, including his fourth double of the season as he finished with two runs scored and an RBI, and Liam Bedford tallied his first home run of the season as he, Charles Galiano and Will Craig each registered two hits.
Nick Jensen-Clagg took the start on the mound for the Rox, throwing the first 5.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on three hits while fanning eight. He was relieved by Tyler Peitzmeier in the sixth, who threw a scoreless final 3.1 innings and struck out two to pick up the win (3-0) in his relief effort.
The Rox trailed the Huskies 3-2 going in to the top of the seventh inning, where they tallied two runs to get the lead back, coming from a two-RBI single from Will Craig to bring in Vazquez and Chris Paul and give the Rox a 4-3 lead.
They added four more the following inning when Bedford and Galiano scored on a Duluth error before Vazquez brought Loxtercamp in with his double and later scored to make it 8-3 going in to the bottom of the eighth. From there, Peitzmeier was lights out as the Rox took the victory and the series over the Huskies.

The Rox will now head to Willmar tomorrow night to play a make-up game with the Stingers at 7:05 p.m. before heading back to St. Cloud Tuesday to begin a six-game home stand, featuring three, two-game series’ with the Waterloo Bucks, Duluth Huskies and Green Bay Bullfrogs. Tuesday’s game between the Rox and the Bucks will begin at 7:05 p.m. and will be Rox Replica Jersey Giveaway, presented by Coborn’s and the St. Cloud Times for the first 500 kids 14-and-under.
