St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox could not complete the weekend sweep over Duluth Sunday night as they fell to the Huskies 6-1 at Joe Faber Field. The Rox (13-11, 32-27) scored their lone run in the third inning when Eric Loxtercamp singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly to right field from Chris Paul, giving Paul 31 RBIs on the year.
Austin Caspersen took the loss (5-3) for the Rox as he started on the mound and threw 3.2 innings while allowing one earned run on six hits. Tyler Peitzmeier then came on to record the final out in the fourth and threw the next two innings before being relieved by Matt Rodgers, and Nick Denny and Chad Hockin pieced the final two innings together for the Rox.
Boo Vazquez finished the night 3-for-4 to lead the Rox offensively, and Loxtercamp and Will Craig added two hits apiece as the Rox were outhit by the Huskies 14-9. With his two-hit performance, Loxtercamp has now reached base in 21 straight games and has hit safely 19 times in that span.

The Rox will now head to Rochester for one game with the Honkers on Monday at 7:05 p.m. before returning to Joe Faber Field on Tuesday to begin a six-game home stand where they will play one game apiece with the Rochester Honkers and Mankato MoonDogs before playing two, two-game series’ with the Waterloo Bucks and Eau Claire Express.
