The St. Cloud Rox wasted no time in getting their season started in the right way as they opened the season with a 13-4 win over the Kenosha Kingfish.
The bats were alive early, as the Rox scored a run in each of the first four innings, including a monster 2-run homerun by Austin Athmann in the top of the 3rd.
Austin Caspersen was on the mound for the Rox in the opener, and allowed 4 runs on 7 hints in 3 innings, before being relieved by Trevor Charpie.
Charpie was lights out on the rubber in relief of Caspersen, going 4 innings allowing only one hit and one walk with 4 strikeouts.
The game remained close throughout, as both teams continued to battle as the Rox clung to a 6-4 lead.
In the top of the 9th inning, Rox centerfielder Michael Strem helped blow the game wide open with his 3rd double of the night, en route to a 7-run inning that pushed their lead to 13-4.
The Rox will be in action again tomorrow night at Kenosha, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM. You can listen to every Rox game online at 1390thefan.com
