St. Cloud, Minn. – Trevor Charpie and Reese Gregory of the St. Cloud Rox have been named to the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Team.
Trevor Charpie is the Rox closer out of Saddleback Community College. Charpie has a 1.00 ERA in 27.0 innings pitched for the Rox in 2015. He has recorded 32 strikeouts, fourth most on the team, and two wins coming out of the bullpen. Charpie has only allowed three runs this season. Charpie’s eight saves rank fourth most in the Northwoods League and second most in the North Division.
Reese Gregory, out of St. Cloud State University, spearheads the Rox pitching rotation. Gregory is 4-2 with a 1.77 ERA in 45.2 innings pitched in 2015. He leads the Rox with 43 strikeouts. Gregory ranks in the top 10 in the Northwoods League in ERA, innings pitched, and strikeouts. Gregory has had five games where he has struck out five or more batters including an 11 strikeout game versus the Thunder Bay Border Cats on May 30th.
Gregory is also batting .267 in 30 at bats for the Rox in 2015. He has two RBIs along with four runs scored, one double and five walks in 13 games at the plate.
This will be Gregory’s third All-Star selection.
The All-Star game will be played at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 21 at 7:05 p.m.
The next Rox home game will be on Tuesday, July 14th when they take on the Willmar Stingers at the Rock Pile starting at 7:05 p.m. Gates for fans will open at 6:05 p.m. It will be Faith in Action Night with a pre-game youth clinic presented by Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YMCA, and Northland Capital Financial Services, LLC.
