St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Eau Claire Express 7-3 Saturday night at the Rock Pile in St. Cloud.
Domenick Carlini (Southeastern Louisiana University) started on the mound for the Rox. He would go on to throw a beautiful 8.0 innings where he struck out four batters, allowing only two hits and only gave up one earned run.
Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) would start off the scoring for the Rox in the fourth inning when he would hit a double off the fence that scored Lee Miller (Davidson College) and John Sansone (Florida State University).
The Rox would add a run in the fifth inning when Marcus Carson hit a hard single that drove in Joe Tietjen (UNC Asheville). The following inning, Kyle Serrano (Colorado Mesa University) would drive in Sansone with a single.
Bobo would cap off the scoring for the Rox when he hit a three-run homerun in the eighth inning with Sansone and Serrano on base.
Collin Strall (Louisiana State University) would come into the game in the ninth inning where he struck out one batter.
Webb Bobo would end the game 2-4 with five RBIs and his one homerun. He is now batting .306 on the season with four homeruns and 28 RBIs.
The Rox are now 16-6 in the second half and 35-21 overall. St. Cloud leads the second half North Division standings by two games over Willmar.
The Rox will finish up the series versus the Eau Claire Express tomorrow at 5:05 P.M. but gates will open at 4:05 P.M. at the Rock Pile. It will be Military Appreciation Day presented by Country Manor Health Care & Rehab Center. First 300 fans receive a card set of our local Veterans. Coborn’s Kids’ Day. Kids have an opportunity to run the bases and get autographs on the field after the game.
