Rox Add Four More Players to the 2016 Roster

St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox announced the signing of four additional players for the 2016 season today.  The list includes Georgia Tech teammates Burton Dulaney and Bobby Gauvreau, University of Nevada, Reno’s TJ Friedl and South Dakota State University’s Luke Ringhofer.

Dulaney is a 6’0” right handed pitcher currently in his freshman season at Georgia Tech. He has appeared in nine games this spring for the Yellow Jackets.  In 21.1 innings pitched, Dulaney has a 2.11 earned run average and has collected 22 strikeouts.  He also has two saves. Prior to attending Georgia Tech, Dulaney was a four time First Team All-Region and All-Area player at Darlington School in Rome, Georgia.

Gauvreau, a 5’11” right handed pitcher, is also in his freshman season at Georgia Tech.  He has appeared in eight games throwing eight innings for the Yellow Jackets.  He has seven strikeouts on the season.  Prior to his Georgia Tech career he was an All-Region and All-County player at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia.  In his senior season Gauvreau had a 7-1 record and a 0.77 earned run average.

Friedl is a 5’10” outfielder at the University of Nevada, Reno currently in his sophomore season. He has started in all 23 games for the Wolfpack this season and leads the team with a .398 batting average.  Friedl has one home run and 10 runs batted in to go along with a team high 22 runs scored. He will join his college teammate, returning Rox pitcher Trevor Charpie, on the roster this summer.

Ringhofer is a 6’1” sophomore catcher at South Dakota State University. He has played in all 22 games this season for the Jack Rabbits a leads the team in numerous offensive categories including batting average (.377), hits (29), runs (16), doubles (6) and walks (15). Following the 2015 season at South Dakota State University, Ringhofer was named to First-Team All-Summit League and the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team. The Woodbury, Minnesota native was a three-time All-Suburban East Conference player at East Ridge High School.  He was also named to the Class AAA All-State Team in his senior season.     

In total the Rox now have 20 players under contract for the 2016 season.  Field Manager Augie Rodriguez, along with the Rox organization will continue to build the roster for the 2016 season. 

The Rox will play their 5th season of Northwoods League baseball in 2016.  The home opener at Joe Faber Field is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th at 7:05pm against the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
