Postseason

St. Cloud, MN – St. Cloud Rox manager Augie Rodriguez was named the 2016 Northwoods League Manager of the Year, and three of his players were named to the 2016 Northwoods League postseason All-Stars, the league announced Sunday. The three players selected to the team are Ricky Ramirez (McNeese State), Collin Strall (LSU), and Brian Glowicki (Minnesota).

In his fifth year as manager of the Rox, Rodriguez has led the club to a North Division best 47-23 record so far this year, his fourth straight winning season, and has qualified for the playoffs for the second straight season. In his five seasons as manager Rodriguez has amassed an overall record of 200-156 (.562 winning percentage) including two playoff wins last season and a berth in the Summer Collegiate World Series.

Ramirez led the Rox in a number of offensive statistical categories this season, including hits, doubles, RBI and runs. He was named to the North Division All-Star team earlier this year, participated in the Major League Dreams Showcase, and was recently named team co-MVP for the 2016 season.

Strall has been one of the anchors at the back-end of the Rox bullpen this season. He leads the team in appearances and innings and is tied for the team lead in saves. Strall owns an ERA of 1.53 this season, which ranks third in the Northwoods League among qualified pitchers. He was also named to the North Division All-Star team and was the other co-MVP for the Rox this year.

Glowicki has been the other force out of the St. Cloud bullpen this year. He has an ERA of 0.45 in 14 appearances this season, allowing a single run in 20 innings of work. Glowicki did not allow a run in his first 17 innings this season. Glowicki has also struck out 27 batters while only allowing nine hits.

This is the most players that the Rox have ever had on the postseason All-Star team, after having two players selected in each of the past three seasons. The All-Star team and league awards were voted on by league coaches and members of the media. The Northwoods League release and full postseason All-Star rosters can be found here.
