Eau Claire, WI — The Rox (18-11) have had a plethora of players perform well at the plate on a given night. Tonight belonged to Daniel Schneemann (BYU), who recorded his 3rd multi-hit game of the summer. It was not enough in the Rox latest setback in a 4-0 loss to the Express. St. Cloud remains in 2nd place for now, trailing Waterloo by a couple of games with a week left in the 1st half of the regular season.
Schneemann also made an unbelievable play at 3rd base in the 6th inning. With the bases loaded with one out and the game still scoreless, a ground ball to Schneemann right on the "hot corner" ended in his glove. He touched 3rd and then threw out the runner at the plate to keep STC within striking distance.
Carlo Graffeo (Southeastern Louisiana) had another solid start on the mound. He started the game hot with 4 strikeouts in the first two innings, and had one more the rest of the night. He ended the night with 6 scoreless innings with just 3 hits and 3 walks in his 3rd start this season.
At the plate, Cameron Eden (Cal) had a single and Shane Selman (McNeese State) and Michael Busch (North Carolina) doubled in the loss.
St. Cloud plays one more game in Eau Claire tomorrow night with the 1st pitch at 6:35 PM. The Rox then return for three home games starting Thursday against the Border Cats. It is going to be deuces wild! Dueling Pianos will be performing throughout the game presented by PreferedOne.
