St. Cloud, MN – The Northwoods League announced Friday the rosters for the 2017 Northwoods League All-Star Game which includes five Rox players and the Rox coaching staff on the North Division team. Representing the Rox will be outfielders Drew Avans and Shane Selman and pitchers Aaron Rozek, Brent Killam and Jack Cushing.

Drew Avans, an outfielder from Southeastern Louisiana University has played in 20 games this season, tallying 22 runs, posting a .301 batting average and stealing 17 bases which is second most in the Northwoods League. Avans has also pitched in five games this season posting a 1.17 earned run average and striking out 12 batters in 7.2 innings.

Shane Selman is a sophomore outfielder from McNeese State University and has appeared in 30 games this season for the Rox, collecting 37 base hits, scoring 22 runs and driving in 20 runs.

Aaron Rozek, a junior left-handed pitcher from Minnesota State University, Mankato has started six games on the mound this season, posting a North Division best 5-0 record with a 2.65 earned run average. Over 37.1 innings he has struck out 44 batters which leads the Northwoods League.

Brent Killam is a freshman right-handed pitcher from Georgetown University. He has appeared in 12 games for the Rox this season striking out 24 batters over 14.1 innings. He has a 1-0 record with a 0.62 earned run average. Killam also has six saves which is the second most in the North Division.

Jack Cushing, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Georgetown University made six starts for the Rox this season. He had a 3-1 record and a 1.80 earned run average and struck out 32 batters in 35 innings pitched. Cushing will not participate in the all-star game for the North Division team as he was recently shut down for the summer after reaching his school issued innings limit.

The North Division will be coached by Rox field manager Augie Rodriguez and his assistants Al Newman, Adam Maxon and Riley Price. Rodriguez will coach his first all-star game after leading the Rox to a 25-11 first half record and North Division title. Following the 2016 season Rodriguez was named the Northwoods League Manage of the Year. He has a career record of 228-171 (.571).

The Northwoods League All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 18th at 7:05 p.m. at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The Rox return home on Tuesday, July 11th against the Mankato MoonDogs for Rox Drawstring Backpack Giveaway presented by Central Minnesota Credit Union. The first 300 kids 14 & under through the gate will receive a special edition Rox drawstring backpack!
