St. Cloud, MN — Kyle Boser (St. Cloud State) has been given a tall task going into the final stretch of the regular season: enter the starting rotation. After tonight's performance you would have thought he had been a starter for his whole career. Boser tossed 6 phenomenal innings Thursday in the first game since the All-Star break. He struck out 4, and only allowed 3 hits. Still, he could not get any run support from the Rox hitters. They struggled all night and ultimately dropped the game 6-0 to the Huskies.
St. Cloud only totaled 6 hits all night with half of them coming from BYU players. Daniel Schneemann had another multi-hit game at the bottom of the lineup, and Keaton Kringlen doubled in the 2nd inning. Still, the Rox never rallied, and failed to have a runner reach 3rd base.
Drew Avans (Southeastern Louisiana), Cameron Eden (Cal) and Angelo Altavilla (Nebraska) had the only other hits.
The Rox look to turn things around tomorrow night when they head to Wade Stadium in their 4th and final regular season game there against the Huskies. They will be back at home on Sunday afternoon against the Honkers. 1st pitch is at 4:05 PM on Peanut Allergy Awareness Day. Sunday is also Coborn's Kids Day! Kids have the chance to run the bases and get autographs on the field after the game.
