St. Cloud, MN – The 2017 Northwoods League Champions, St. Cloud Rox announced four players signed to the 2018 roster today. The players include first baseman Bobby Seymour, pitcher Will Warren, outfielder Bryce Steckler and catcher Marshall Gilbert.

Seymour is a freshman first baseman at Wake Forest University. He has played in 10 games for the Demon Deacons this season with a .324 batting average, three runs scored and three runs batted in. Out of high school, the St. John, Indiana native was named the Daily Southtown 2017 Baseball Player of the Year after hitting .561 with 15 homeruns and 48 runs batted in.

Warren, a right-handed pitcher, is in his freshman season at Southeastern Louisiana University. He has appeared in six games this season for the Lions, throwing seven innings without allowing a run. Warren has eight strikeouts and one save on the season. The Brandon, Mississippi native was named the 2017 Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Player of the Year after going 7-0 with a 1.39 earned run average during his senior high school season.

Steckler is a junior outfielder at Southeastern Louisiana University. He’s played in 11 games for the Lions, hitting two triples, two homeruns and six runs batted in. He transferred to Southeastern Louisiana after two seasons at Everett Community College in Washington where he was named an American Baseball Coaches Association All-American.

Gilbert, a catcher, is in his junior season at Mississippi State University. He’s played in six games for the Bulldogs, collecting two doubles and two runs batted in. Gilbert transferred to Mississippi State after two seasons at John A. Logan College in Illinois where he was a NJCAA Division 1 second team All-American. Last summer he played with the Elmira Pioneers where he batted .376 and had 38 runs batted in.

Director of Baseball Operations Augie Rodriguez, Field Manager Al Newman and the Rox organization will continue to build the roster for the upcoming season. To date the Rox have eleven players signed for the 2018 season.

The Rox will play their 7th season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2018. The home opener at Joe Faber Field is scheduled for Friday, June 1st at 7:05 pm against the Mankato MoonDogs.
