St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox announced Wednesday that the organization has added four players to the 2018 roster, one of which will be returning from the 2017 Northwoods League Championship team.

The players signed include pitcher Jack Cushing, who played in St. Cloud last season, along with three newcomers in pitcher Spencer Marz, infielder Landon Stephens and infielder Ryland Kerr.

Cushing is a junior right-handed pitcher at Georgetown University. The Texas native has appeared in eight games so far this season for the Hoyas, starting on the mound in four of those games. Cushing, a 2017 Northwoods League All-Star, returns to the Rox having appeared in six games and tallying a record of 3-1 in 35 innings in 2017. He allowed eight runs and struck out 32, while finishing his summer in St. Cloud with a 1.80 ERA.

Mraz, a right-handed pitcher, is in his sophomore season at Miami-Ohio. The Ohio native has appeared in six games so far for the RedHawks, holding a record of 2-0 and an ERA of 0.74 in 24 1/3 innings pitched. Mraz has given up three runs and has tallied 22 strikeouts.

Stephens is a sophomore infielder at Miami-Ohio. A native of Ohio, Stephens is currently batting .250 in 56 plate appearances for the RedHawks. In 16 games, he has recorded seven runs, two doubles, one triple, one homerun, 10 RBI and four stolen bases.

Kerr, an infielder, is a redshirt junior at Eastern Kentucky. The Washington native is currently batting a team-best .333 in 25 games with the Colonels. In 96 plate appearances, he has 32 hits, 20 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples and 10 RBI. Kerr transferred to Eastern Kentucky from Edmonds Community College in Washington after one season, where he won a Northwest Athletic Conference Gold Glove and was named to the All-NWAC North team.

Director of Baseball Operations Augie Rodriguez, Field Manager Al Newman and the Rox organization will continue to build the roster for the upcoming season. To date, the Rox have 15 players signed for the 2018 season.
