Every week of the offseason leading up to the start of the 2018 St. Cloud Rox season on May 29, we will pick a former Rox player as the Player of the Week.

This week, it’s TJ Friedl, an outfielder who played in St. Cloud during the 2016 season. Friedl, who is 22 years old, is currently playing with the Daytona Tortugas, the Class A Advanced club in the Cincinnati Reds’ system.

In seven games this past week, Friedl went 9-for-28 with seven runs scored, six walks and four RBI to help lead the Tortugas to a record of 5-2 during that span. In 20 games in Daytona this season, Friedl holds a .265 average with 15 runs, 18 hits, four doubles, one home run, 13 RBI and 14 stolen bases.

Friedl appeared in 16 games with the Rox in during the 2016 season, tallying a .373 batting average, along with 15 runs, 25 hits, 11 RBI, eight walks and 12 stolen bases before signing with the Reds as a free agent during the Northwoods League season.
