St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox closed out a two-game series against the Bismarck Larks on Sunday with a victory to secure their second straight win.
St. Cloud defeated Bismarck 4-2 on a sunny afternoon at the Rock Pile to complete a sweep of the series with the Larks.
The Rox were led by Jack Cushing (Georgetown) on the mound in the game, pitching six innings in his first outing of the season. Cushing, a returner from St. Cloud’s Northwoods League championship in 2017, gave up three hits, one earned run and struck out seven to grab the win.

Finn Del Bonta-Smith (San Jose State) pitched two shutout innings in relief for the Rox, setting up for a save from Sean Hupp (South Carolina-Upstate) to close the game.
St. Cloud kicked off the scoring in the bottom of the third inning thanks to a RBI single from Gus Steiger (South Dakota State). The Rox tallied two more runs in the sixth inning off of RBI singles from Ryland Kerr (Eastern Kentucky) and Ryan Weisenberg (Georgetown). Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) helped stretch the lead with an RBI single of his own in the seventh inning.

Kerr went 3-for-4 with one RBI to lead the way at the plate. Steiger finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI, Sanchez went 2-for-3 with one RBI, Weisenberg finished 1-for-4 with one RBI and Hance Smith (California-Berkeley) added one hit and one run scored.
St. Cloud will hit the road to take on the Duluth Huskies at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, before returning to the Rock Pile for six home games in seven days. The next home game for the Rox is at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday against Duluth. The game will be Coloring Book Giveaway and Contest presented by Rengel Printing, where the first 500 fans 12 and under receive a Rox coloring book and can enter into a coloring contest to win great prizes.
