St. Cloud, MN – In front of a packed crowd at the Rock Pile, the St. Cloud Rox took down the Duluth Huskies to win their third straight game on Thursday night.

The Rox defeated the Huskies 4-3 to complete a sweep of the three-game homestand in St. Cloud, thanks to a big three-run sixth inning that put the Rox ahead for good.

St. Cloud kicked off the games scoring with one run in the bottom of the third, when Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) stole home putting the Rox up 1-0.

The Rox broke the game open in the sixth inning, with Sanchez leading the way. After Jack Barrie (Northwestern Ohio) drove home Ryan Weisenberg (Georgetown) on a sacrifice fly, Sanchez came through when St. Cloud needed it most, delivering a two-RBI single to center field to put his team ahead for good.

Sanchez finished the game 1-for-2 with one run scored and two RBI to lead the Rox. Bobby Seymour (Wake Forest) went 2-for-4 with one run scored, while Barrie and Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) each added one hit.

The Rox pitching staff had an impressive showing for the second night in a row. Jack Cushing (Georgetown) pitched seven stellar innings to start the game, giving up eight hits, three runs, two walks and striking out seven. Erik Martinez (California-Berkeley) pitched one shutout inning in relief, while Finn Del Bonta-Smith (San Jose State) pitched one shutout inning to pick up the save.

St. Cloud (5-4 second half, 21-24 overall) will hit the road for a one-game road trip on Friday before coming back home, squaring off once again with Duluth at 6:35 p.m. at Wade Stadium in Duluth.

The Rox will return back to the Rock Pile for a two-game homestand over the weekend, taking on the Willmar Stingers. At 6:05 p.m. Saturday, the game will be Summertime St. Patty’s Night presented by Miller Lite, where St. Cloud will wear special St. Patty’s Day jerseys and the game will feature green bases and beer. At 4:05 p.m. Sunday, the game will be Pink in the Park Day presented by Center for Diagnostic Imaging, where the Rox will be wearing special jerseys that are being auctioned off online with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
