St. Cloud, MN – The Northwoods League announced Friday that three St. Cloud Rox players have been selected to take part in the 2018 Northwoods League All-Star Game on July 24.

Infielder Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio), pitcher Finn Del Bonta-Smith (San Jose State) and pitcher Jack Cushing (Georgetown) have been selected to represent the Rox in the All-Star Game, which will be played at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Stephens, who wrapped up his sophomore season at Miami-Ohio this spring, is hitting .307 in 41 games for the Rox so far this season. Stephens has a team-best six home runs on the year, which is tied for fifth-best in the Northwoods League. He has also recorded a team-high 26 RBI, along with nine doubles, one triple and three stolen bases.

Del Bonta-Smith concluded his junior season at San Jose State before arriving in St. Cloud this summer. So far this season, he has appeared in 12 games while tallying 17.2 innings of work. While allowing just two runs and two walks while recording 30 strikeouts, Del Bonta-Smith has a 1.01 ERA and is 3-1 with three saves on the year.

Cushing, who finished his junior year at Georgetown in 2018, is in his second season in St. Cloud and has been selected to his second straight All-Star Game after being named an All-Star in 2017. So far this season, Cushing has appeared in a team-high 41.2 innings, giving up 18 earned runs and striking out 37 to hold a record of 2-1 with an ERA of 3.88.

St. Cloud will return home on Saturday, July 14 to take on the Willmar Stingers at 6:05 p.m. at the Rock Pile. The game will be Summer St. Patty’s Night presented by Miller Lite. The Rox will wear special St. Patty’s Day jerseys and the game will feature green bases and green beer.

The Rox are in their seventh season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2018. Single game and group tickets for the entire season are on sale now.
