St. Cloud, MN – Jack Barrie (Northwestern Ohio) went 2-4 at the plate and scored a run, but St. Cloud (24-27) dropped game one of the doubleheader to the Eau Claire Express (22-28), 9-3. Ryan Davis (Georgetown) and Connor Aube (UT-Arlington) each drew two walks in the game.

All three runs for St. Cloud came in the bottom of the fourth inning, with RBI coming from Noah Hill (BYU), Gus Steiger (South Dakota State), and Davis. Bobby Seymour (Wake Forest), Barrie, and Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) all scored in the half inning.

Jack Cushing (Georgetown) made his final start before his appearance in the 2018 Northwoods League All-Star game next Tuesday in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He tossed two innings and struck out one batter. The bullpen finished the game, with Sergio Esparza (Arkansas at Pine Bluff), Carlo Graffeo (Minnesota State-Mankato), and Landon Clifton (LSU-Eunice) all seeing work on the mound. All three of the pitchers recorded a strikeout each.

The Rox and Express will finish the doubleheader on Friday night, with a first pitch time scheduled for 7:25. There will be post-game fireworks presented by Franklin Graphics and Franklin Outdoor Advertising.
