Kalamazoo, MI — The St. Cloud Rox were once again well-represented at the 2018 Northwoods League All-Star Game at Homer Stryker Field on Tuesday night in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The 2017 Northwoods League Champions sent three players to the annual All-Star Game, including infielder Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) and pitchers Jack Cushing (Georgetown) and Finn Del Bonta-Smith (San Jose State).

Stephens, who has six home runs on the season for St. Cloud, kicked off the All-Star festivities by participating in the Home Run Derby earlier in the evening alongside eight other members of the North Division and nine members of the South Division. The South ended up topping the North in the competition.

All three Rox made appearances for the North Division in the All-Star Game, which saw the South Division won 2-1.

Stephens got the start at third base while batting fifth for the North, playing five innings and making his way up to the plate twice.

Cushing — who has primarily been a starter for the Rox this season — made an appearance in the bottom of the third inning representing St. Cloud. The two-time All-Star pitched a quick one-two-three inning while striking out one.

Del Bonta-Smith took his turn on the mound in the bottom of the sixth inning for the North. Del Bonta-Smith, who has put together a dominant season while serving in the closer role for the Rox, threw one inning and gave up one run.

The Rox will now return back to St. Cloud to get set to finish out the remainder of the regular season. The Rox will kick things off right back at the Rock Pile at 7:05 p.m. Thursday night against Rochester. The game will feature wrestling legend “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, who will be at the ballpark signing autographs and taking pictures with fans throughout the game presented by Cornerstone Buffet & Restaurant.
