Rochester, MN – St. Cloud (26-30) registered fourteen hits as a team en route to their 11-1 win against the Rochester Honkers at Mayo Field. Connor Aube (UT-Arlington) went 5-5 at the plate, scoring four runs and blasting his first home run of the season. Noah Hill (BYU) also hit his first home run of the season in the win. Evan Johnson (Creighton) was stellar on the mound, tossing eight innings and striking out eleven batters.

The Rox jumped out to an early lead in the second inning, as Ryland Kerr (Eastern Kentucky) delivered on a two-out single to right field scoring Hill from second base. In the fourth inning, Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) hit a sac-fly to left field and scored Aube. That set up Hill in the fifth inning, belting a solo home run to left field and giving St. Cloud a 3-0 lead.

In the sixth inning, three consecutive RBI were hit from Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff), Stephens, and Bobby Seymour (Wake Forest). St. Cloud answered with another three run inning in the seventh, as Aube crushed a two-run home run to left center field. Seymour picked up another RBI to finish the scoring in the inning. The Rox were in full control of the game at that point, leading 9-1. They would tack on two more runs in the ninth inning.

Aube, Stephens, Seymour, Hill, and Kerr all registered two RBI for St. Cloud at the plate. In his five hit effort, Aube was just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

Johnson pitched eight innings, tied for the most by any Rox pitcher in a single start this season. To go along with his eleven strikeouts, he gave up just three hits and one run while issuing one walk. Finn Del Bonta-Smith (San Jose State) finished the game in the ninth inning on the mound, striking out two batters.

St. Cloud now travels to Canada for a two-game series with Thunder Bay. First pitch on Saturday at Port Arthur Stadium is scheduled for 5:05 PM (CT).
