St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club announced today that they have added four players to its roster in preparation for the 2019 Northwoods League season.
New additions to the roster include infielder Jordan Barth (Augustana University) and catchers Brendan Tinsman (Wake Forest University), Brett Bonar (University of Nebraska-Omaha) and Jack Kelly (Northwestern University).
Barth, a Cold Spring, Minnesota native leads Augustana with a .436 batting average and 8 home runs during his sophomore season. He was recently named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Tournament Team after leading the Vikings to a tournament championship hitting 7 for 16. Last season Barth was named the NSIC All-Tournament Team MVP and NSIC Freshman of the Year starting all 59 games during Augustana’s national championship season.
Tinsman is a freshman catcher at Wake Forest where he’s appeared in 41 games. He is currently batting .278 with 10 home runs and 39 runs batted in for the Demon Deacons. Prior to his time at Wake Forest, Tinsman was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Maine, earned the Winkin Award as the top senior high school baseball player in Maine and was a three-time all-state honoree.
Bonar, a junior catcher at University of Nebraska-Omaha has appeared in 45 games this season. He’s currently hitting .246 with 4 home runs and 29 runs batted in. Prior to his time with the Mavericks Bonar spent two seasons at Barton County Community College batting a team high .410 while leading his team to an appearance in the JUCO World Series.
Kelly is a St. Michael, Minnesota native in his sophomore season at Northwestern. He has appeared in 28 games this season for the Wildcats hitting .271 with 10 runs scored and 9 runs batted in. In high school at St. Michael-Albertville High School he led his team to a state tournament appearance and was named to the all-conference and all-section teams.
