Bismarck, ND– Brett Bonar (Nebraska-Omaha) drove in two runs in the ninth inning to break a tie as St. Cloud (28-18) beat Bismarck (23-24) by a score of 6-3. The Rox have won five games in a row.

Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) tied the game at one in the second inning on a solo home run to left field. He hit a total of three home runs in the doubleheader and was awarded Northwoods League Player of the Night.

‘The Rox took the lead in the third inning as Gus Steiger (South Dakota State) hammered a solo shot to left field and put St. Cloud ahead 2-1.

Down 3-2 in the fifth inning, Jack Kelly (Northwestern) drove in Ben Carew (Kent State) to tie the game at three.

Still tied in the ninth inning, Bonar blooped a single down the left field line and scored Jordan Barth (Augustana) and Garrett Delano (Brown). Stephens would later score on an error and the Rox would hang on to win 6-3.

Carter Bosch (Georgetown) pitched five innings and struck out seven batters. Max Rippl (Kent State) pitched three innings out of the bullpen and notched the win. RJ Martinez (Minot State) pitched the ninth inning and picked up his first win of the season.

The Rox will finish the three-game road series against Bismarck on Sunday at 1:05 p.m at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.
