Thunder Bay, ON– During the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday against Thunder Bay, St. Cloud (42-28) clinched the second half title of the Great Plains West Division after Mankato lost to Rochester. St. Cloud will play Willmar on Monday at the Rock Pile with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch time. To order tickets for Monday’s game, click this link.

After winning game one of the doubleheader 4-0, the Rox dropped game two by a final score of 7-3. All three runs came in the fifth inning, beginning with a groundout from Gus Steiger (South Dakota State) that scored Zack Elliott (Minnesota). Garett Delano (Brown) scored Ben Carew (Kent State) from third base on a sac-fly to center field. Parker Smejkal (Nebraska-Omaha) later singled to bring home Jordan Barth (Augustana).

Trae Robertson (Missouri) started the game on the mound for the Rox. Justin Wick (Creighton), Joey Stock (St. John’s) and Drew Garrett (Johnson County CC) all saw time out of the bullpen.

The Rox conclude the three-game series with the Border Cats on Sunday with a 12:35 p.m. first pitch time.
