St. Cloud, MN– The 2019 St. Cloud Rox season was one filled with many historic moments on and off the field. For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Rox made an appearance in the Northwoods League Playoffs. Over 57,000 fans attended the Rock Pile, making it an electric atmosphere every home game.

The first half of the season was highlighted by a late surge that saw the Rox finish in second place of the Great Plains West Division. St. Cloud won seven games in a row during the last week of June, tied for their longest winning streak of the summer.

RJ Martinez (Minot State), Trevor Koenig (St. Cloud State) and Garett Delano (Brown) all competed in the Northwoods League All-Star game, which was played in Waterloo, Iowa.

The second half of the summer was full of excitement, as the Rox won the second half title of the Great Plains West Division. Ben Carew (Kent State) and Jack Kelly (Minnesota) both had walk-off hits at the Rock Pile. St. Cloud also claimed the Highway 23 Series Trophy against Willmar.

Pedro Garcia (Reds) and Alex Carrillo (Rangers) both competed at such a high level for the Rox that it led them to their first professional contracts.

The three mid-season All-Stars and Jordan Barth (Augustana) were all selected to the Northwoods League postseason All-Star list.

Three of those players help break numerous single-season records for the Rox. Barth is now the record holder for hits, doubles, runs, extra-base hits and games played. Delano broke the RBI record, driving in 53 runs. Koenig, a St. Cloud Tech graduate, tied the wins record with seven.

Barth was selected as Team MVP and Koenig was honored as Pitcher of the Year for the Rox.

There were many special moments at the Rock Pile in 2019. From Dwier Brown appearing for the 30th anniversary of the classic movie Field of Dreams, to Birdzerk and ZOOperstars, it truly was a summer full of Rox Solid Fun.
