ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (9-3) took game two and the sweep over the Waterloo Bucks (4-8), with a 6-5 final score, Friday, June 9th. They sit in 1st place in the Great Plains West division, tied with the Willmar Stingers (8-2).
The winning pitcher was Owen Marsh (St. Thomas), his 1st win of the season. Marsh came in relief in the top of the 9th inning, getting the final out of the inning. Marsh then shut down the Bucks in the 10th, giving up no runs and giving the Rox a chance to walk it off in the bottom of the inning.
John Nett (St. Cloud State) had a flawless day at the plate, going 4-4 with two walks, scoring three times. Nett scored the game-winning run for St. Cloud in the bottom of the 10th. Jackson Hauge (Minnesota State – Mankato) was the leader of the hit parade early, with two doubles in the first three innings. Hauge plated the first two runs of the day for St. Cloud. Ethan Navratil (St. Cloud State) had a career day for St. Cloud with three hits and two RBI. Navratil plated Nett to give the Rox their second walk off win in two nights!
Hunter Day (Tarleton State) started the day for the Rox, throwing 5.0 innings, giving up just two earned runs and striking out two batters. Tommy Gross (Creighton) made his debut for the Rox in relief, going 2.0 innings without giving up a run, striking out two batters. Garrett Mclaughlin (Weatherford College) also made his debut, going 1.2 innings with three strikeouts.

The Rox return to the Rock Pile tomorrow – Saturday, June 10th, for a 6:05 pm first pitch against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. There will be a baseball giveaway for the first 250 kids, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Voigt’s Bus Service! It’s also Coborn’s Kid’s Day, kids get an opportunity to run around the bases after the game and get autographs from the players!
